My grandma died 3 days ago. It has been hard, and these last few days have been my downs. she was my bestfriend, my rock, my backbone. She held me when i cried, and listened like no one else did. This song reminds me of her, and it makes me realize that she is right here with me, standing by my side, along with my parents. Rest in peace Mommy, Daddy, and Grandma. Love you all.

27 years ago this June I lost the love of my life...The last words he spoke to me were promises that neither of us imagined he wouldn't be able to keep. I went crazy after his death, but eventually gave my heart to God & a few years later met the man that I'll be married to 25 years this August. But I still love and miss my first love & a day doesn't go by that I don't think of him. I've loved him for 29 years & counting...he was only 21 when he died...

Its actually based on a true experiance with one of brantley gilberts friend. Her name isnt amy but he died in a car accident after he had just proposed to her.

I cry...Every time. I lost my Father at the age of 5.. My mother was Tearful and Couldn't move on. She tried And tried But i was to young to figure out how she felt. Im 12 now and my Mother has moved on, I love my stepdad but He will Never Replace My Daddy :'(. I Lost My Dad When I was 5..... He Died 3days after my birthday that year. 2004. My Mom Didn't know what to do with me and my younger brother. I've been listening to Brantley Gilbert my whole life, and this song is about his best friend Dana that her boyfriend came and asked her if she would ever marry him in the future in which she said yes, but when he was on his way home he was killed in a car accident. Laterr on when he was still writing this song his brother came home after his deployment in Iraq and said that fianally someone wrote about Amy. Amy was in the same situation as Dana, her boyfriend purposed and got killed on his way.
