Saving an abandoned garage find Hillman Imp - I couldn’t believe it!

When you here about an abandoned old car, you have to go and check it out, and that’s exactly what i did! the Previous owner has allegedly passed away over 20 years ago! The garages around the area are being knocked down and this was what was hiding inside! unfortunately didn’t get there to see it in the garage first hand, however i should be in ownership of the imp when you’re watching this video Fingers Crossed!

Same model, year and colour as my first car. Sold it to my BiL in '80 who kept it for around 18 months then broke reverse IIRC and sold it to banger racers. It was in far, far better condition than this one with no rust at all and had a nicely rebuilt engine. One of three cars I wish I'd kept - the others being a 205GTI 1.6 (SORN) and a 306XSI (no record).

This looks exactly like my dreadful Imp from 1975. Same lovely colour, dark green with brown rust polka dots everywhere. Siezed kingpins, warped cylinder head, slipping timing due to worn woodruff key... etc. The list goes on.. Probably the worst car I have owned in nearly 50 years. Not even in the same league as the awesome 848 mini that replaced it.
