I dedicated my life to animals, and have spent over 30 years as a vet nurse, wildlife carer and rescuer in Australia. It never occurred to me, to go to Africa and spend my life trying to save these incredible animals. Now I’m over 50 and too old to embark on such a dream. I would happily live with the elephants, sleep with them in the stalls and rear the orphans 24/7 for years. Not just elephants but all other wild animals, exploited and hunted by evil humans. I’m the kind of person who would take a bullet, to save an animal from being killed. I have always been this way, it’s in my DNA. Along with that passion, comes such a deep empathy for them, that kills my heart and crushes my soul though, it’s horrific what humans do, and my tears flow just watching these kinds of videos. Bless every single human that does this kind of work, they are the true angels on this planet.

I don't eat vast quantities of animal flesh but when I do, it is not down to greed, it is because I enjoy it and that's what I choose to to. I choose to eat meat and you, presumably, have chosen to be a vegan. Each to their own but what none of us need is either side preaching to the other on what they should or shouldn't eat. When the animals I eat are killed, they are done so swiftly and as humanely as possible - they are not caught in a barbaric snare and left to roam the plains in excruciating pain and, almost certainly, without the intervention of decent and caring humans, would die in agony.

Both tusks can give a fortune as high as 750 000 USD. And when you take into account that Africa is the poorest country its understandable why people would hunt elephants. People act like they cant even fathom how humans can do this to animals. Live like an average poor person in Africa and almost anything would be understandable giving their living conditions. Besides, if they truly killed the elephant for its tusks, what would be the difference to kills elephants and to kill lets say a deer for food? Both things are done for survival, but its easy to point fingers when us people on the internet live good lives and are angered by these beautiful elephants that we don't need for survival are being hunted and killed.

@@iappearateveryfunction they're basically the same, humans don't need meat to survive, and producing meat is less efficient and more polluting than simply obtaining those nutrients from plants, so unless you live in the wilderness, an extremely impoverished area or are a nomad you aren't eating meat to survive, you are eating it for sensory pleasure, which morally is pretty similar to wanting say ivory jewelry because it also produces sensory pleasure.
