Saving an Old Log Cabin in the Woods | (WITH A DOG!!!)

This old trapper cabin at Nine Mile on the St. John River was built by Camille Beaulieu. He died in 2006. In 2015 the "Lost Cabin Hunters" who are now called the "Maine Cabin Masters" renovated the cabin installing a standing seam metal roof and flooring. In this episode I returned to the cabin to jack it up and replace the rotten log course. I use a bow drill to make a fire, bake a pizza in the reflector oven, and cook baked beans in the dutch oven.
This cabin is an official North Maine Woods campsite and is open to the public on a first come first served basis.#logcabin #offgrid #cabinbuilding

This kind of hard work is the real cross fit. I noticed that Gracie doesn’t wear a collar. Does she have a chip? I always worry about pets getting a scent and running off, never to be seen again. I fixed up a log cabin that was way worse. It was my first house I was 17. Me and my dad cut our own logs and I milled them on both sides. Then we jacked the house up and replaced floor joists and a couple whole walls. I loved the house but it I only had a crawlspace and the house was unheatable in the winter so I had to sell it and find something that wasn’t such a pain to maintain
