I have the same wish. I think a real chance at having that world is sharing these kind of stories often and with everyone we know. Yeah, maybe few will watch, maybe none will comment but if we keep sharing they unavoidably see there's a lot more that matters in the world that the idi otic tiktok clips that go viral. Force some sense into ppl in a nice way? If you help change ONE persons perspective, you achieved something. Rinse and repeat thru the globe and things will get better! 👍👍

Crazy, in Cape Cod 140 dolphins got stuck in shallow water. Over 100 survived. Volunteers do great work.

I know it will dramatically change the natural look of the bay but they should build jetties or seawalls or riprap rock ranges or dams. Keep the whales from even getting close to the shallows and shore in the first place. They will eventually change their migration patterns away from these whale traps.

Heartbreaking…amazing human response…poor whales must have been disoriented by dehydration and exhaustion. And extraordinary that the big pod came and led the stranded whales out. Very sad they restranded. The people must have been so exhausted but this gives me some hope.

They need some whale pingers. They have been used successfully in Australia for years on their anti shark nets. Fishermen in Canada and the US use them on their gear to keep whales from running through and tearing holes in their nets or getting entangled in the nets or trap lines.

Human fishing is the leading cause of marine ecological destruction worldwide. Why not treat the root cause by ending the demand to eat the bodies of marine animals? Whales and other marine animals need to eat other fish to survive; humans do not.

@@SungazerDNB Tackle the root cause rather than treating the symptoms. Human fishing is the most ecologically destructive to vital marine life. One making a brief profit is not a reasonable justification to cause extinction. Whales and other marine life need to eat other fish to survive; humans do not. Omega-3 is only made by plants such as plant algae, flax seeds, sesame seeds, and walnuts. Eat the source of essential nutrients from an array of plants and fungi by not paying others to kill & harm.

These migrating species traveling from one place to another for safety and longevity, can be nurtured and guided to their next place, through compassionate caring. We too, as humans are challenged with some of these issues which are altering our own regions, states, and countries. I will be important to navigate these shifts with compassionate tools and hands.

This was so moving. I couldn’t help cry from all the love and care the volunteers gave. It’s as if the whales that came to rescue their loved ones already knew the humans were taking care of them. They probably communicated that “these humans are helping us.” Just a lovely display of humanity at its best❤️❤️❤️

New Zealand really should build a sturdy fence across as much of the bay as possible. The whales will keep coming and coming. They’re so smart-after all few tries, they’ll stop coming. This was done in a (much smaller) bay in Canada, and it worked.

Err.., no. Golden Bay is huge. And let's remember there are other species that live there that need to roam freely. The bay itself is nearly 30km from the tip of Farwell Spit to Separation Point so not a practical solution for many reasons. Definitely worth a visit if you haven't been there though. It's extraordinarily beautiful.
