I went to the Stan Reynolds site to buy a couple of 1951 Kaisers that were going to be destroyed if they didn't find a home. I got lucky and heard about these cars just in time; many others had already been cubed. In part 2 of this video I take a walk past the stacks of the less fortunate ones...

Hi Paul; thanks for checking it out! Unfortunately, NJ is pretty far out of our range here; I mostly have my hands (and yard) full just rescuing local cars. I hope you are able to find homes for those classics, and thank- you for your kind offer!

We live in such a throwaway society, & the things we should value the most pay the price. While everyone else is clamoring for the latest wired-up gizmobile(I hesitate to call them "automobiles"), give me a car that will require me to use MY senses in order to operate & maintain it. Thank you, Stella, & your fellow Agents for at least trying to save Automotive History.

Hey, thanks and thanks for watching. You were one of the first subscribers to my channel. I saw the Plymouths you rescued; the Fury was amazing, but pretty far gone! The other 4 door didn't look too bad... I never thought I would end up with 3 of these Kaisers, either... and all 1951s! I have to put one on the road now. I love the styling of these cars!

It just broke my heart to see those wonderful irreplaceable vintage treasures going into the crusher. Thank the gods of steel and fire there are men like Scott and the CWM agents who are rescuing these wrecks from certain doom. Scott, it would be a dream come true to become an agent and have you as a friend and mentor. It is such a treat to watch you turn rusty and dented metal into shiny like-new parts. I am addicted to CWM. Keep up the great work in preserving automotive history! You're a good Joe!

Every time I watch this I cringe I live in Massachusetts and have such tragic sites crushed beautiful cars I couldn't save. it's trash to so many but to the few of us who appreciate the vintage design of the past it actually hurts to see what happens to these in my opinion treasures..keep saving them buddy!!!!

It's almost overwhelming to think of each of those cars' histories.... The employees all along the manufacturing, then the owners in their timelines afterwards and the adventures they got into with each. To me, that's as much of the loss as the actual body itself. - Ed on the Ridge

Makes me sad looking at all those crushed vintage cars. Thanks for your efforts at saving a llittle history from oblivion. I have an all original 1948 Buick Super 4 door (248 Fireball 8 w/3 speed manual) I brought back to life that surely would have been crushed just like that old Kaiser. It was beyond economc restoration , but with some effort I put it in good driving condition and "fixed up" the cosmetics so at least it doesnt look like an old abandoned car. I drive it regularly and have lots of fun with it.. So there is a place for unrestored "fixed up" old cars . They get used rather than only looked at.
@coldwarmotors
@coldwarmotors 7 жыл бұрын
Yes, I agree. Fixing up a car that is not really economically feasible enough that it can be enjoyed dents and all is a great alternative to just letting it sit. All the best from us here at CWMC.

It's so heart breaking to see all those crushed cars. I know, you can't save them all but it's truly a shame no one else did. You're doing a great job rescuing those Kaisers. I once had the chance to buy two 57 Plymouths at a junkyard in Switzerland...and I did it. They were too far gone to be saved but good for parts. I don't think this will ever happen to me again...

+OnlyTheEd ...Its a horror story but all too comon in our greed based society. I've seen some nightmares up here in Genesee county Michigan, I saw a yard with a 20 foot deep pile of antique trim, get crushed, along with a Nash metro, complete repairable car, 58 Chev, 2dr yeoman wagon, probably 30-40 crushed. The places that really bothered me were the one that had 3-4 car high stacks of old cars all around and you couldn't touch anything in the stacks. When the 1st mobile crushers came around all that old detroit iron was gone.
