Um...this mother completely escalated that situation all on her own. She sees her daughter is in a mood - but VERY IMPORTANTLY hasn't back-talked yet - she then admits her daughter makes her "so angry" and follows her to her room, gets angrier at her daughter for telling her to leave, and then pettily takes her teddy! I mean, lady, you're part of the problem here. Why not leave her alone for a few minutes to cool down instead of following her and both of you getting angrier?

I’m not saying it was the wrong thing to do but I completely see where she is coming from. My brother acts exactly like this and the only way to get him to listen is to take his xbox off him otherwise they just keep going on and doing whatever they want! She had a right attitude on her since the start and I don’t blame the mother for taking a teddy off her. Children like that need to be disciplined and show respect to their parents which this child is obviously not doing.

This mother is ridiculous. She buys her daughter designer brands and top electronics and says the kid throws a fit if her stuff isn't designer (in another clip). If she listened to her daughter she's saying she doesn't really need anything but her teddy. Madison didn't mention the DS or the expensive American girl dolls, just the teddy. She's continuing to spoil her child totally unnecessarily. I agree, take the DS but a child forms an emotional attachment to their teddy, I don't think she should've taken it away. It's wrong.

This is a clip of a much longer video. It is missing some of the stuff that went before that led up to this short bit. While I agree the child needed discipline, this scene did make me uncomfortable, for several reasons. But, kudos to Mom for not backing down. (Consistancy and follow through were things she was learning.) I believe that Teddy was the first thing earned back. And, to the people commenting on her taking her clothing--I think she did lose some of them. They also went shopping at either a discount store or a 2nd hand store after this. And....the girl seemed content with what she got.

It is kind of refreshing to see a child who wants their teddy rather than their game system phone etc...I think the child needed her teddy bear to hug whilst she went off to sleep. I have a feeling there is more at work here than a child having a bratty fit. Mum took teddy because that is what gives the child comfort not entertainment. I feel it may have been to try and hurt the child rather than discipline. The child seems insecure in her mother love and I feel as though mum may be trying to buy the love of her daughter. This hit me in the heart as the child wanted the teddy and said to take everything else but teddy. A comfort item like that is usually off bounds when using proper discipline but rather a way to hurt the child and make them feel uncared for and unsure. Tv phone gaming systems music etc can be taken but teddy and blankies should remain for a child who is upset to sooth themselves with, She just seems like she needs a bit more love and some discipline with boundaries that are clear.

This is abuse and the most sickening part is her telling her she loves her to basically overwrite everything she's done. You can NOT take away something a child gets comfort from, especially to sleep at night. Taking away something a child is so bonded with feels like someone's taking your parent away. It's extremely traumatic and to have that kind of punishment will bring on trust and abandonment issues later in life.

She said to her she can take the rest of her stuff but she wants her Teddy back. To take something that actual helps them settle down no matter what they've done is just wrong. Doesn't matter if they misbehave can't take their sleep toy away. You don't see parents taking their beds from them or their pillows or duvets so why do it with their cuddly bed toys. Yeah the wee lassie was annoyed had an attitude but she wasn't answering back. Is are you in a mood a rhetorical question all of a sudden? She asked her a question she answered that question back. If she didn't say anything she would have got in trouble for ignoring her.

You don't deprive a child of their favourite plush toy, because it will only enrage them further (I've been an auntie of 8 nieces/nephews for 20 years, so I know what I'm talking about). By all means, take their Nintendo DS away; but taking their precious & VERY sacred "cuddly" away is just hurtful & doesn't teach them anything (except that their parent is capable of becoming a bully). You don't need to try & score any points over a child to prove a point. Common sense where it's due, you know? Your teddy is yours & no one else's, so no one has the right to touch it without permission... 💕✨🐻✨💕

I just had an epiphany, even if your child is being a diva/brat/naughty, your taking their only way of comfort when isolated to their room. If you take it away they will use it against you to scream and be mad at you even if it isn’t that important to them, they therefore won’t get a good nights sleep and be even grumpier the next morning. That’s my life lesson for all parents, sincerely a kid who knows about this stuff

To be honest, I don't think she should've taken the teddy away. Taking away dolls and electronics is one thing, but taking away a child's safety item, their comfort item, something they have an emotional attachment to, something that soothes them, is just wrong. Of course it riled her up more--this teddy was clearly something she used to soothe her. It might be the thing that helps her sleep in the dark or calms her down during tantrums or nightmares. It shouldn't have been taken away as a form of punishment.

That description. That is not okay to blame the kid for them going poor. The kid doesn't have control of the money the mom does and the mom chooses to spend it. The kid is a product of the moms terrible choices.

I think the real reason why Madison got her teddy taken away was because how she first ignored her mum, but the spoke quite rudely to her. At 0:36 Madison said 'go away' which is without a doubt rude, even though her mum is a bit of an idiot. Then at 0:39 Madison then said 'I don't like you' to her mum, and that's why her teddy was taken.

I am only 12 so plz dont hate on me i am not trying to be mean. Ok I understand that she is rude to her mother but what I have learnt from super nanny videos is that you do NOT yell back at the child you lower the tone of your voice and in my own opinion the mother should have not takin the teddy off of her because obviously she loves that teddy a lot and the mother did not listen to her because she said "you can talk everything out of my room apart from teddy" and that almost made me cry because as a kid who still sleeps with a toy I understand and you may think that is crazy and it is wool and stuffing it is you best friend and your pride and joy so I am just saying I'm not trying to be mean but I just want to say this from a kids eyes that no parent should take away the kids favorite toy to make them do something or to punish them.

1. Genuinely spoiled child. 2. Genuinely entitled mom 3. Genuinely Annoying family besides the teenager. 4. Asking if she's annoyed, when she responds, calls it backchat, then proceeds to take teddy bear off her without reason. 5. "ShE's ChAnGeD yOu InTo A hOrRiBlE mOtHeR" No she hasn't, she's changing your mom into a better person.

Poor thing... what if the only way she can fall asleep is with her teddy? The mother seems kinda unreasonable

Usually, most people acknowledge that they've done something wrong, and apologize for it. But I'm totally unsure what is going on in Madison's mind. She's being disobedient, yelling at her mother, and refusing the instructions. I think she does need discipline.

anyone notice the huge red flag of madison saying she's even angrier now and her mother saying "don't talk to me like that" like madison insulted her and then before when madison leaves talk about how angry her daughter makes her? kinda weird she sees her daughter vocalizing how she feels as backtalk and i think while Madison absolutely had things to learn, maybe a lot of the conflict is the mum just blowing up over interactions like this. tbh i wish this family was on the og version of Supernanny so jo could have weighed in on that interaction, it made me so uncomfortable and the mother didn't even warn Madison or anything, just straight to punishment.

Madison walked away ( as to not start a fight) and the mother antagonized and that’s why the situation escalated.

Whilst I will admit that I think Madison was being rude by ignoring her mum, Madison's mother is completely clueless. She thinks by taking away all of Madison's teddies, that it will change Madison's behaviour, when it will just turn her more against her. I agree that it would be better if Madison helped out more, but her mum is just making matters worse by targeting her daughter.

The little girl is visibly irritated/upset when she’s on the couch and instead of sitting on her level and asking if she’s okay. She just started snapping at her, because the girl is already upset that makes her attitude be stroppy. Then she leaves the room to calm down and then gets followed and her thing she uses to feel safe and comforted is snatched off of her.

For those who watch supernanny, you might remember a girl with a similar tone of voice as the girl in this video: yes, Megan! If I had to guess, I would say this is Megan’s Rage incarnate, and that’s is pretty scary believe me.
