Robot thing is used mainly in the raid. You repair it with that item you get starting the mission. With the drops you get from the mobs in here. You gotta pass it around to different people to use it in order to activate it. Once activated it walks around and protects the group from area effects. One of the achievements is not to use the robot. In short its pointless in group mission, way too much work and you get penalized for doing it.
