I believe that the two soul crystals that Elidibus grabbed at the end were the ones for Lahabrea and Igeyorhm (we fought both of them at the same time at the end of Heavensward), and that they were also the two Ancients we see in the flashback Elidibus has where they were talking to him about their worries with his obsession with his duty. One of them says something along the lines of “Just look out the window! The rains have ceased and we’ve been blessed with another beautiful morning. Come outside with us.” So when Elidibus repeats that line as he is dying, he is lamenting the fact that he didn’t take up their offer when he had the opportunity and now he never can.

How do you know those were Laha and Iggy? They didn't have red masks, so they probably weren't even members of the convocation.

@@ChrisMorray Similar reason we know the guy who showed up against Hade's was the missing 14th member and the reason we know the one that showed up against Elidibus is Emit. this in spite of their white masks. Story telling and timing. It's the timing of discoveries and their relevance to the characters (amongst other things) that gives us clues as to who they are. But even if we never get a direct answer, it doesn't matter. Since their story is over, the details of their personal history no longer matters. We can only draw our own conclusions based on what we're shown thus far.

@@Edanite But with Emet we have actual evidence: We know Azem was his best friend, and we know the power of the crystals is to summon Azem's friends to his aid. They also used not one but two animations for that Amaurotian that no other character in the game ever used before. We had none of that for Lahee and Iggy. It could be literally anyone else. We have 11 other Convocation members it could have been, and that's if we baselessly assume they were convocation members. Besides, we **didn't** know that the guy Hades saw when we rejoined was the missing Convocation member. All we know is: It was an Amaurotian, and Emet knew him. And Hythlodaeus called him "his new old friend". That's all. Nothing to even remotely suggest our sundered soul to belong to a convocation member. We only know it in hindsight after Hythlodaeus outright tells us. But we could have been Hythlodaeus for all we knew.

@@ChrisMorray That's not entirely true, the last bit I mean. We did have a lot to say we were the missing 14th. We knew that Emit was friends with the 14th through dialog with the spectors. We are also told vaguely that we and Ardburt we're the sundered soul of a friend of Emit. We're all but outright told this by the Spector that remembers he and the rest are illusions. This Spector also mentioned that Emit likely already noticed who we were to him. We are also told that the friend of Emit was a free spirit that travelled with his friends. During the summoning incantation that the crystals used we hear the chant state 2 things, 1 where you go your friends will follow, 2 you are the 14th seat Azem. Not only do we get told that we're are the remains of Emits friend by a Spector, the summoning gems states who we are. Finally, Emit himself has a similar reaction to you as Elibidus has to Emit. Keep in mind that we are aware that he most likely knows who we were. But unlike Elibidus, Emit rejects the revelation because his friend was sundered, hence why he recoiled from us in denial. Honestly, by the time the Spector that remembers told me Ardburt and I were of the same soul I already knew we were the 14th. Edit. Just to add, the entire gimmick of Emits plan was to force a re-joining. By fusing a With Ardburt we became more whole then we were before, to Emit we would have looked more complete, a bit more like Azem. Basically, what FF14 does, and a ton of jrpg really, is they give you everything you need to get to an answer ahead of time, not necessarily the right answer but a answer, but if you didn't figure it out they at least spoon feed us the info directly when it become relevant. Edit. In this case we get just enough information to draw our own conclusions but that's about it. Whether or not we're wrong isn't really important (at least until we get a confirmed answer) so much as it offers us possibilities to discuss.

First off, we know that Elidibus grabbed the memory crystals for Lahabrea and Igeyorhm because we can match the constellations etched onto the crystals with the members of the Convocation. This connection between members of the Convocation and the constellations actually comes from FF12, where the Scions of Light share the names of the Ascians in FF14. Igeyorhm is connected to Sagitarius (the green crystal) while Lahabrea is Pisces (the blue crystal). Using those constellations, it seems pretty certain that Elidibus grabbed the literal memories (in crystal form) of Igeyorhm and Lahabrea. So how do we know that the two Ancients who spoke to Elidibus in the memory were Igeyorhm and Lahabrea? First off, they WERE wearing red masks. One of them spoke with a male voice while the other spoke with a female voice. The fact that Elidibus chose to grab the memory crystals (again, literally the memories of those individuals stored in a crystal) and then repeated the line he was told in that flashback indicates to me that the memory crystals he grabbed belonged to the two individuals who told him to take a break and not be so obsessed with his duty. Not to mention G'raha is literally the counter to Emet's dialogue near the end of 5.0 about how we would never sacrifice ourselves for others when G'raha's whole thing is a world giving up its own life (they thought that'd happen anyway) to save the past.

It hits just that little bit harder when you realize that in life, Elidibus was a literal *child prodigy* tasked with such a weighty responsibility to his people... his brothers... his friends. I suppose WoL/D, the current officeholder of the title of Azem, the Wanderer will simply need to carry Elidibus' dreams/memory/legacy along with them just the same as Emet-Selch's "Remember us. Remember that we once lived."

the piano piece is called "Eternal Wind," and it's a very special redone version of a theme we've heard a lot in SHB (as well as being the theme from another FF game). I was in the camp of thinking Elidibus was a very young kid, like 11-14 but some one pointed out for me that in the Japanese script he is referred to as Seinin which colloquially puts him at around 16-25ish if I'm remembering what they told me right? Now I know the ascians are super old, but it would stand to reason that comparatively, in terms of how much he had matured before the end of days, he was seen as we would see some one of the age range.
