Huge respect, the biggest difference between wow and ff devs seem to be that the ff devs understand how people think and react in reality. Blizz devs are content with gaslighting their player base and shifting blame. Just look at how they responded to the big controversy they faced! Instead of announcing sweeping changes within the company they start changing sexual things in wow, reducing bust sizes and deleting artsy nude paintings. Like wtf? Honestly with everything they have said/done that was the last straw for me.

@@auriaska99 What also helps is the transparency of Yoshi P and the FFXIV devs. If there is an issue, like server congestion, they let us know, implement things that will help, let us know they are working on a permanent solution, tell us if that permanent solution can be done soon and if not, why, and tells us they will continue working on it and thanking us for understanding. If more gaming companies did stuff like this, all of them would make so much more money and the gaming industry would see a golden age.

20:42 --- That monster (aka Googue) in the city (aka Uldah) is an event with heavy impact on Minfilia's life. You want to remember it :) 45:40 --- Yes, "The great Googue Wall" is an ingame legend :D Some random NPC mentions it in the MSQ and there are other small references. Dont worry too much about the "spoilers" in the video - by the time you see it, it'll be like "oh thats that" or "this kinda familiar". Its only fly-overs of random zones with no implication as of what you see :) When I saw these series I also thought "Hell, wish I had been there" :D I wont lie, I had lots of fun in WoW... but also honestly, I barely remember any of it :( I wont it was all a waste of time but I'm getting close...

Chat: React to this video it's really good! Also chat: Let's keep saying stupid shit so they get distracted and read our comments instead of react to the video... They literally gloss over the best part when Yoshida is talking about the attitude of the company at the time and how many parallels there are to Blizzard who became so big and renown only to think everything they make will be good. Instead the chat explodes into nostalgia wank and he joins in so misses all that stuff.

Well savix your right but we ff11 didn't get a free trial back than. So they can't blame it on us because we were accustomed to ff11 play style. We all thought FF14 was a continuation from ff11, but it wasn't it was a new game itself. I have apologized and didn't regret my complaint because they wouldn't have listened to us. To me it is a lesson on both sides to never judge before you try it and never disappoint the players who invested their time and monthly subscription. I do apologize for all the bad comments but I think it was necessary at the time. I do play the game now and I have great fun. Thank you Square Enix your sacrifice made world of difference. From a player's point of view I couldn't understand why they were trying to make FFXI 2.0, I was already playing FFXI why would I want to go and play something else only for it to be more or less a carbon copy of what I already had? Why not just put that stuff into XI where you know it would work? On the other hand I can see it from the devs side too, they had a formula that worked so did what games companies do and repackaged it with a different skin. That imo is what is wrong with the industry in general: things only gets looked at from one perspective and it is usually the business perspective.

Tbh wow needs to. Reset everyone to lvl 1. All players who played van-SL keep all achievements/mounts/pets/gear etc etc. Make everyone a “hero” and existing character before you log in to the world you get to chose wether you want to continue let’s say your old mage character as a mage or you can choose to be a warrior now instead ( when logging in you get gear/wep equal in scale and stats but for plate ). Then have a MSQ kinda like FF14 that tells the story of the new narrative of the game. Maybe do 1-50 lvls or 1-40. Have mounts very something you unlock relatively early maybe 15-20. And have lvl 10 be where you can pick up another class to play like mage/warlock/monk. And instead of having what like final fantasy has with job lvls. Just have it be where you lvl just as the character like always and you can basically just switch classes as you want. Just give the class a quest chain of some sort. Many many more ideas I can go on about that pretty much just mirror FF14. But it works. Not only would it bring back old players, it would bring new players, possibly FF14 who may find it familiar and easy for them to understand. It would be cool IMO. Obviously they shouldn’t mirror EVERYTHING but I think the MSQ/Job like system but in wow would be great. And clearly give all those OG players a mount/achievement/tabard/ and pet for playing. Ps. They would have to have slight references to the old game kinda like FF14s MSQ. And have it be balanced to where new players wouldn’t be like ???? What did I miss??? So they’d have to figure something out.

Nice video and reaction. I think Blizzard has the same current issue as was mentioned in the beginning. "All of these have these separate parts." WoW would be fun if you COULD do all the things once.... However they're meshed together incredibly poorly and you have to repeat sooooo much of it. Additionally most of it doesn't feel OPTIONAL!!!! In FF14 outside of the main story quest line the only thing that is mandatory is item leveling for dungeons and the main story quest line. Torghast is cool, but I don't wanna have to be forced to do it. Not even once...... I certainly didn't like doing it more than once.....

They couldn't scrapped ffxiv because at this time period ffxiii and the rest of its compilation of fabula nova crystalis didn't do that well, if 14 fails then they're afraid that final fantasy would die as a franchise, and in the worst way possible. Ffxiv 2.0 would also be the start of the renaissance for Square as the mentality of the company changed after that, restructuring the company and leading to a number of great games to be developed, such as NieR Automata, Octopath traveler, Bravely Default and others.
