A small savoy macassar was the first humidor I owned. Seasoned with 84% Boveda packs for 2 weeks. It struggled to keep humidity for very long and ate boveda packs for breakfast. It is now my dry box :) Excellent review! Love the attention to detail and professionalism.

Interesting. I have two Savoys, a medium Macassar and a large Rosewood (and a half-dozen other brands of desktops). Both seal nicely. The Macassar holds steady at 67% with two Boveda 69s. The Rosewood holds nicely at 68 with three Boveda 72s, and it's actually kind of hard to get it open. To me, these are good results. Neither of mine show the poor workmanship shown in this vid. Maybe QC is slipping at Ashton, mine are both a couple of years old. I don't have any Marshalls or Waxing Moons or anything, only cheaper ones, but of those the Savoys are by far the best. Enjoying these reviews, thank you.

Love this, I started with these cheapies and am having problems with them in the winter. Large, stackable, weatherproof container from The Container Store (with wheels) has been amazing so far. Cigar Oasis gets it to 68% within minutes of closing the lid. (verified with extra digital hygrometer). Still interested in whether any of these cheapies are any good.

Hello, Over at Ashton Mazz says try the dollar bill test to check the seal. Basically open the humidor place a flat dollar bill half in half out ,lenght wise, in the humidor and close the lid. With a gentle and consistent pull. Does the humidor get pulled across a desk. If yes then the seal is good. If the bill pulls out then the seal is bad. This could be done at a cigar shop to test the seal. Any thoughts or experience doing this? Thanks,
