you know it's a sustainable business model when one company can cause a projected wipeout of 1 trillion dollars in tech stock lmfaooo

Best thing about DeepSeek is: 1) Huge SMACKDOWN of proprietary AI 2) Reels in the runaway greed (for now)

How about the ability to train much more efficiently? Maybe another add to the list

Why are people OK with giving American companies thier data but not Chinese ones? 🤔
@8lec_RКүн бұрын
Because mainstream news propaganda has been oft repeated everywhere without giving it a second thought. Some people are getting better but most people are basically doing what amounts to casual racism
@michaelsanchez1361Күн бұрын
Because companies were just private individuals. You can just sue them if they use your data against you. In Chinese government, you are not allowed to complain if your data was used against you. Best example if you are an artist or content creator. You can control your works and make a profit from your works. While in Chinese government they will use your work and make a profit from it claiming your work as theirs

I'm sorry man but that just isn't the case in the US. US citizens have no privacy protections when it comes to digital privacy

I assume Ollama would be the easiest way to run it locally once they add it to their LLM library. Unfortunately, I don't think they have added it yet. It is a good thing to look out for though

I don't worry too much about Chinese data collection. They don't use my data to sell ads, nor have a seen Chinese companies selling data to data brokers. Pls correct me if I'm wrong. I'm specifically referring to Chinese companies that operate primarily in China. Not a company like Xiaomi which is basically a global megacorp by this point

I don't understand the whole "careful with your data" here when the biggest competitor is OpenAI. You know, the company with an ex-NSA Director on their board. Careful with your privacy, always, but the warning always seems to appear more when China is mentioned.
@hanro5022 сағат бұрын
Just run the model locally in a sandboxed environment if you're worried about privacy. Then, it is a lot harder for any shenanigans to happen.

@@hanro50 I'm trying to use AI less. It makes everything very easy to troubleshoot but at the same time it doesn't allow me to understand the entire issue because it solves the problem for me instead of me understanding the issue. Sometimes yes, for example when I couldn't install drivers for a certain nic. I literally spent 8-10 hours trying to get drivers working. Finally after trying a bit with chatgpt I managed to get it working in 30 mins
