Just thought of something else. I always watch my material's reference edge when ripping... to make sure it's not drifting away from the fence. If your material thickness lands in one of those t-slots, you won't be able to see if it's tight against the fence.

You are correct. I didn't even think of it until it happened.

Hello again. I just made this modification with the powertek track. For me, standard bolts didn’t tighten in the track. Perhaps it’s different that the tay tools. I ended up using 1” T bolts that came with a powertec jig kit. I cut the bolts down to 3/4” because tightening the locking nuts was pure hell, especially since I had to undo them twice (don’t ask why). A ratcheting wrench would have been perfect but I only have metrics. I also required 4 #10 washers to space and used 1/4”x 1” washers in case anyone’s making a trip to the hardware store. I never knew how name the washers that have a larger outer diameter.

Thanks for the tips for those with the Powertec

Looks like a good upgrade to the very thin aluminum stock faces. But you had my OCD on overdrive with all that dust in the tube. BLOW that OUT! Wouldn't want any to get between the fence bar and your new t-track face!

It's a great saw for the money. Still have mine after 4 years. The project I couldn't do without is the fold-up outfeed table.

What hardware do you have to hold up your outfeed table that’s attached to the saw. Great video thanks for sharing

Thanks for this video. You answered my concern about how much thicker the new fence would be. Seems like an easy upgrade and adjustment.

Be aware that 1/4 20 hardware is needed for the t-track. Will not fit normal 5/16th.

Nice! I did not realize it be so easy to replace my Delta fence side (I have the newer T4). I've been looking for a way to easily add track accessories to the fence. Now I just need to wait for TayTools to get them back in stock. I wish they offered a 48" version... makes longer cuts more accurate.
@AlaskaWorkshop2 жыл бұрын
Right, 48" would be perfect. The 36" has been out of stock for a while. Thanks for the comment!

hi, just saw this video on upgrading delta 36-725 T2 table saw fence with t-track. I have the same table saw. I would love to upgrade with t-track but cannot find a t-track to work with the delta fence. Maybe I am just not looking in the right places. Please if you know where I can get the same t-track you installed I would greatly appreciate it. Taylor tools does not have it.
@annettewexler88838 ай бұрын
So, no worries, played with the t-track from Taylor tools (I ordered the t-track and tried to install but did not work) I tried it again and it worked not fence adjustments at all. When I originally put it on, I misjudged height. So truly thank you for the video without the video I wouldn't know that there was actually a t-track available for delta table saw.
@Momoka73 жыл бұрын
I don't know if the video quality is good enough to see that, but there was very little wood dust being thrown up in the users face. Which is a good thing. I always hear the Delta has horrible dust collection... but as long as I not get my face blasted full of dust... its fine by me.

You are right, my zero clearance inserts help in that regard as well.

I should be able to do this upgrade without a problem since i have the feather board you have!

I had to get 1/4 20 hardware for this t-track. The 5/16s hardware that comes with the feather board will not work (too big).

Good video but since it’s sold out where can I get a similar T-Track? Your Amazon link only shows t-track knobs and hardware. Thanks.

I think taytools is having a hard time keeping the 36 in version in stock. It is sold out on their website too.

Looks great! Curious why you measured to the side of the blade and not to the side of the teeth. If the teeth are wider than the blade, won't they be what determines where the line will be cut?
@AlaskaWorkshop3 жыл бұрын
You are right, it should be 1/16" off. I will re-verify with a number of cuts.

Thanks for the video Mike. I will be putting the new t-track fence on in the morning. I was wondering if you had given any thought to doing the same to the opposite side of the fence also?? I know you would lose the little flip over fence but I have always considered it almost useless. Besides, with the t-track, it would be easy to have a add on piece to accommodate narrow cuts. Thanks
@AlaskaWorkshop3 жыл бұрын
I have considered it and may do it soon. Love having the t track fence

Is there a way to straighten out the orig fence? Mine has the same bow in it. I just got the saw and noticed my cuts pick up that curve. Or do you have any suggestions. Thanks for any help.
