Saw that one going differently... Colorado ZR2 Destroyed at Coos Bay Dunes!

In episode 1 of our Coos Bay Sand Dunes adventure series we arrive at Coos Bay, a massive set of sand dunes located on the Oregon Coast which host thousands of acres of open riding area to explore. Our trip starts off a little bumper as we try to drag two toy hauler trailers out on the sand to enjoy a bit of dispersed sand camping. It took some doing but thanks to our extrication gear from usaropeoffroad.com we were able to eventually make it to camp. The first full day at the dunes was epic. We toured the sand dunes on quads and in my Polaris Rzr Pro Xp4. But when the belt blew on the RZR we decided we should take ‪@TaylorGibleroffroad‬ new Colorado Zr2 for a spin in the sand. That's when things took a turn for the worse. After noticing that the ZR2 suspension was quite impressive, Taylor decided he wanted to see how well his new truck could jump. We found a seemingly harmless kicker and drove over it a few times, each time with increasing speed. The truck never left the ground, that's when I suggested we should try going over the jump in the opposite direction. Turns out that was bad idea. As the chevy flew through the air the nose pitched down and slammed hard into the sand.

Airing down for sand is an absolute must! Also, air down your trailer tires too! Floatation is key.

Dont use the safety chain loop as an anker point to pull something out. Those things will break trust me. We broke one snatching someone out with a chain. Dont snatch someone with a chain either. My buddy's tailgate looked like it got shot with a machine gun when that safety chain loop broke.

I would ditch thst zr2 as quick as you can, if the bed touched the cab, the frames bent, all that atuff up front means its bent up there too, once you wheel these for real, the rack will break and all four shocks go to shit among a ton of other things. Jerm.4x4 on the gram in you want to see one that actully off roads. Ive been through a rack 3 drive shafts, a few rear shocks etc.

It’s like hitting cement. Stuff is bent and shocks leaking. Front is so much heavier, it never levels on landing. Prerunners need feet of travel and are much lighter to jump just a little.

If it seems like this is all I do that’s probably because this is all you guys watch. Taylor has been talking about jumping his ZR2 since I met him. He’s free to do what he wants, I didn’t force him to do anything, you didn’t see me jumping my shit did you? The thumbnail and title of this video painted a very clear picture of what was going to happen. I wasnt sure how low to go. My tires were at 75psi to start so i droped to 30 which wasnt enough. Went to 15 on the truck and trailer and could get anywere I wanted after that. All about the air down.
