I have read online that this material is great for building bird houses. And you are the only one who has a video related to it that I could find. Thank you! 👍👍

Så? 25kg cement, 70 kg sawdust 5kg water. You can not just say 25-30 percent caus it a hughe difference between weight and volume!

Arbolite is what Google has the most specific information about with regards sawdust and either Portland cement or dehydrated lime and some ammonia sulfate. The proper amounts, etc. Hempcrete is the same, but using the hemp exclusively

Cool great idea. R value? Type of saw dust will make a difference as well as the water content of the wood and density.

There was a Fine Homebuilding article years ago about this. The builder first tried cedar and that did not work at all. Then he used pine and that worked well. I don't know about other types of wood, but if you stick to pine, it should work for you.

How well does it work as a floor base? Durability and insulation would the ratios change for this

Hi, thanks for conducting this experiment. Just one question though: how does the finished material behave when submerged in water over a period of about 24 hours ? Are you able to do that for your viewers ? Thanks.

Kul experiment! 👍 Skulle vara roligt att se blandningen användas till något, frågan är väl bara vad det skulle passa till.

I've seen people add lime to protect against insects and rodents, did you add something to protect against termites?
@swedishmansion82627 ай бұрын
Hi! No but I think cement will do the work

How will that hold up in extreme cold conditions seeing that sawdust will soak up moisture.
@swedishmansion82622 жыл бұрын
You must put something on. But I will test it in this winter...

@@swedishmansion8262 I had a similar project with paper and used a freezer to check the integrity of the test piece. Good luck.

Med tanke på att cement inte andas särskilt bra och sågspån är ett naturmaterial så undrar jag vad som händer när sågspånet ruttnar.
@swedishmansion82622 жыл бұрын
Hej! Tror inte det kommer göra det. För det är ju cement runt all sågspån.

щепа должна быть минерализированой а сама наполненная форма должна быть провибрированна! а иначе грош цена вашему арболиту.
