Mark, I can't for the life of me figure out why people would whine and complain about the stop sine sawing, sometimes you just have to think outside the box and improvise and adapt to get the job done and keep everyone safe in the process. I have always enjoyed watching the challenging logs being sawed. thumbs up!👍

Didn't recognise Buzzy. He cleaned up better than I do! GOOD sawing and I remember hemlock about that size around 16 to 18 feet long on the old mill and when the rime to turn came, EVERYBODY danced over the mandrel shaft and grabbed whatever hook, bar and pole there was because it was going to be a JOB! I can see a white pine still standing about that size on our corner that's still growing. Maybe someone will want that for boards one day. HAPPY Week, Mark and no, you do NOT need a blasted band mill. BLESSINGS!

I had a friend who bought the cutoff slabs from a nearby sawmill. They’d dump a big load of slabs in his driveway and he’d cut em up and use for firewood. He mostly heated with firewood with a wood stove in his fireplace. Heated his one floor ranch pretty good.

Unlike some of your other followers, I particularly enjoy watching how you do a stop sign cut. It's really clever and I swear I can almost hear the gears turning in your head as you try to figure out how to cut into the monster logs to get them down to a workable size. Each time I see this technique I ponder the value of a second laser line. You have a green laser shooting straight down to show you where the saw cut will be, but would a second laser of a different color showing you the max height of the blade be useful? I'm sure there would be logistical issues of where to mount it for it to both be effective and not in the way of the log deck or anything else.

Hey the reason some people don't like stop sign logs is they think you are wasting a lot of wood! A lot of people don't understand that you can take the first cuts and run them thro1ugh the resaw and make lumber out of them , it's not all waste!
@wolfgangornig35564 ай бұрын
Its not all waste, but too much. Adequate machinery would reduce waste. If i dont have the right machine for a job, I give this job to a friend who has.
