So, a random question from an uninitiated dude in Western PA. I've seen a couple of your cuts where the wain extends about 1-2 feet down the log and then it becomes a completely clear 10 or 12 inch wide board. Is it more desirable to edge out a clear 6-inch board that is the full length of the log or is it more desirable to have a shorter 12 inch wide board? I love watching your videos and hope to meet you guys some day in person at a show or someplace down the road!

A little behind on watching your channel. Your now 84.2K. You just keep growing. I wouldn't be surprised if you were to hit 100K by the end of the year. Just under 16K to go!

Have a great story to tell ! A old time farmer had a round potbelly stove that he heated his house with but he had a great idea to wrap the stove with heavy duty copper pipe pipe several inches from the stove insides thus heating the water running through the copper pipe that in turn heated the whole house with the hot water running through the pipe ! He even though he thought of using steel pipe since he was a boiler maker and using steel pipe and wrapping the boiler with old radiators that he removed from old houses that he removed from old houses ! But that would need to do a lot of welding to wrap the boiler with steel pipe !so he wrapped the copper pipe with manny coils of copper pipe he used a full coil of about 100 feet of water pipe used for underground water service to houses ! It heated his house and it worked great !burning wood instead of gas or oil or coal !

I wounder what you do with the scrap that comes off the wood scrap like saw dust and the bark is it used for fertilizer or burned for fuel on the property it would be a shame to wast the wood for scrap that could be burned for fuel to heat a boiler !

The camera distorts the proportions so that I can't tell what the spacing between the dog stations is exactly, making me extremely curious. Could you please mention that info in some video coming up? Thanks.

Hey Mark, so nice to see these snack videos. Since becoming addicted to your channel about a year ago, after losing my wife to cancer, I've found these videos to be incredibly therapeutic and relaxing to watch, to the point where I'm trying to guess when you are going to turn the log or decide what you are going to cut. Keep up the good work. Best regards from Ruthin, North Wales - loving the red dragon flag btw.

Mark, I have a question for you:- " Is a pile of sawdust sitting next to your sawmill a danger ? Is sawdust a combustible material ? I notice on some channels (not yours !!) that the operators have large piles of sawdust just sitting on the floor for what could be a few weeks !! When I took woodworking classes in High School, our instructor said we need to vacuum up the sawdust, because if we didn't it would build up heat and self ignite !! Is that true or not ?? Thanks for your answer !!
@markgalicic7788
@markgalicic7788 18 сағат бұрын
we try to keep the sawdust cleaned up , I don't think it could self ignite.
