Lowes carries a asphalt cement in one gallon can that is water proof and not water "resistant " I applied it with a three inch spatula and it went on easy. Let it air dry at least on day and it's goodbye to go. Have fun and stay safe!

Real good video y'all. If I may make a suggestion, not sure how long your gates are but, you might want to think about a brace on the post so the gates don't drag over time. Just saying... I enjoy watching your videos. Thanks

Curious why you didn't use Cyprus or Red Cedar for post since you live in the South? I just tore an eighty plus year old barn down here in Indiana that had Red Cedar post. They were still in excellent shape when I pulled them out of the ground.

You nailed it on the little 180C...I've had one for 15 years or so and when properly tuned and with a good sharp chain it will out cut many larger saws. The new camera has much better sound!

12 years for posts in the ground with average acidic soil. With an eight cover of c35 concrete. The weight of the gate will determine when the concrete cracks allowing water to rot a none pressure treated post! Also the clay content in the soil can add a year or two, to the post life! Keep safe and catch some big ones!

What I would give to be able to use a auger to drill a hole in the ground where I live 😂 (Northeast Pennsylvania). White oak, burnt should last you 10 years. We have fence posts that last longer than that.

Those red oak poles with tarred bottoms if tired to just above ground level and you bevel the top edges they will last between15-20 years.. Beveled tops force the rain to run off instead of siting on top and soaking in. Would be great if you beveld them to a point and then put that tar mix on the top and about an inch down from the top.

Can’t wait for the fishing show! The saw looks like a good fit. Glad to see it put to use. You’re not going to win a race with it but your arms won’t get tired as soon either. The oak posts I’m guessing 15 years on them. I’ll be here still watching when y’all replace them. 😊

Not trying to be a safety not see, but it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to get Brit some steel-toe boots for when she's cutting logs with the chainsaw. I had a log roll on my left foot when I was 14 (nearly 40 years ago) and the nail on my big toe has never been right since then, not to mention I had to use crutches for a week to get around until my foot healed enough to start walking on it again. No broken bones, just smashed the crap outta my foot...I was expecting my foot to look like a pancake like you see in cartoons when it happened...lol. I'm thinking you might get 20-25 years out of those white oak posts...
