A felt blade wiper system would be a good upgrade for this saw. I have a 1983 Lt 30 that is still sawing 5-6 days a week. That mod saved me alot of headaches with using excessive lube. I mounted mine inside the band wheel cover to keep it out of the way. Great channel by the way!!

I have considered using diesel fuel. Glad you enjoyed it. More videos coming soon as the weather breaks.

@@hillsidemill I wouldn't use diesel fuel, since it's rather toxic, and I like to compost my sawdust. But just breathing sawdust with a bit of diesel on it is not good. Currently, I use just water.

I really enjoy your commentary as you’re sawing. Insight into your techniques and a bit of humor make for good videos!

I really enjoy your narration of your every move on the mill from start to finish. So many you tubers show cutting a slab or two off, then cutting a few boards off, and then don't even show the lumber they ended up with. I've subscribed. I know you can't reveal your exact location, but you did mention the Ozarks. Can you give an idea of what part of the Ozarks you are in. I live over in SW MO near Monett. Lots of sawmills around me which I use to custom mill logs for me. I do woodworking and have the lumber dried and planed before using. The cuts near the pith are like gold to me rather than waste. That's where you find the most quarter sawn figure without purposely quarter sawing. I can rip the worse part of the pith off those boards and end up with some very beautiful, useable lumber. No, not very wide, but I use a lot of 2" pieces in my crafts. I can also cut around the stress cracks and pitch those into the wood stove. Not wasted. LOL

I’m on the south side of the Ozark’s, Pope County. I’m about 3.5 hours from you. So you are near the Wood Mizer dealership in Mt. Vernon.

Yes, and I was told by the Woodmizer people at the Paul Bunyan show in October that he might be able to help me find a used mill. I need to check it out. I'm 72 and too old to invest in a new one. LOL@@hillsidemill

I really enjoyed your video sir. Off barring with green wood can be a good workout for anyone. I built my sawmill some years back and I may be a might slow at times but I get the job done without any help. Being disabled sucks at times but I have to thank GOD for the abilities that I still have. Have a blessed weekend sir from Northeast Alabama, signing off

I wasn’t implying people with a mill don’t realize the weight of green lumber. I was trying to make sure people thinking about getting in the business do.

@@hillsidemill I understood what you meant. Anyone who hasn't ever worked around one wouldn't have a clue. I enjoy your technique and your narration throughout the process. It's rather enjoyable to me. Have an amazing weekend sir and God bless

Don't forget that in today's marketplace, all that scrap wood can be sold as firewood or starters. Of course you can sell it of wholesale to a smaller business.

Yes kind of, slabs are a hard sell. And you can’t give away sawdust. I can give away some planer shaving.

Good video Lawrence. That ugly log turned out pretty good. Do I remember correctly that you had just a couple hundred subscribers about a month ago? Now you've got almost 1300. It this is true I'm very jealous. Dave

This is true! The first video of this tree produced 1000 subs and so far 113000 views so far. I have been really trying to figure out what I did so I can repeat it.

If you find out please let me know. It's taken me about 3 years to get to 1300 and you added 1000 with ONE video!

I took a look at your video list and most of the videos that did the best had the word "SAWING" in the title. I'm going to try that on my titles.

From Amazon. 532nm Green Laser Locator Module Line Beam Fit For Woodcut Positioning Light Marker Laser Level Tool a.co/d/hfdPUJq. Then a 12 to 5 volt transformer. I scrapped most of the mount and built my own.

Watchin the planks gettin off loaded is also interesting. You got a stout teenage Grandson handy to help be the off bearer?

No, I don’t. I usually just do it all myself. Thanks for the input on the off loading.
