My parents built a beautiful home in Colorado in the 1960s, most of the walls were black walnut. A couple of years ago I found one left over board from the build and turned it into a beautiful mission style coffee table that is in my home on Whidbey Island in Washington state. This brings back some wonderful memories. Thanks for the fantastic videos, you and your friends are great!

I can just smell that walnut just by watching you saw it! Having been a woodworker since the 1970s I can identify wood species just by the smell of it being cut. Some people are very surprised by this but no doubt you guys have the same ability just by the frequency that you are exposed to the smells of the different woods. My granddaughter loves to quiz me on wood species in my shop by holding up different scraps laying around and seeing if I can ID it. Gotta love that walnut, for the look and the ease of working with it! I work with a lot of reclaimed wood from old furniture (when I can get my hands on it) and it is beautiful tight grained stuff from old growth and just love it! The other good thing is that a lot of georgous stock doesn't end up in a landfill. Not as easy to find as it used to be tho. love the channel

#501 ""BOOMINATOR""" Mark, this was another great video, fun, interesting to watch, and always learn something. It coincides with "T.H.E. Eddie Horvath's" video we saw yesterday. Eddie took us around the Log yard, wood yard, and picked out the Black walnut for today. Talked to us about how logs get to the yard, and different kinds of saw logs etc. Both videos were really good, i saw and learned a lot about how the yards are laid out. It just seemed to fit like hand and glove. Love drinking coffee with you guys every morning: Thanks

A few black walnut remnants were discarded in the humber River. Stump. After many years I finally realized that these wood roots are over ten years in the current.
