Sawmilling: Giant Red Oak On The HM126 part 1

This red oak was taken down several months ago and we finally had time to bring the sawmill down and start making some lumber. This whole day was a struggle so hopefully part 2 goes better!

I'm amazed that something did not go terribly wrong while you were cranking that log up the ramps. Thats a true test of ruggedness right there

That's exactly why I used those ratchet straps. 95% of the logs that I pull up those ramps, I have no worries about. This one, however, made me nervous. This set up is absolutely a beast though!

Tough on the chainsaw

Yeah a little, but as long as you take it slow, don't force it, and keep plenty of bar oil in the tank, it seems to work great. Been doing stuff like this with this saw for almost 2 years and it's been great
