Sawmilling On The Frick 01-C Automatic Sawmill

I was able to aquire 70 Loblolly Pine logs and we are going to see how much lumber can be sawed from that.

54 years old, I celebrated #54 34 years ago and waking up every morning. Love the show as my Grand Dad had small saw mill out back of the barn. I remember those really long drive lines and the big circular saw.

Happy birthday Shannon When that log slipped off that’s part of the reason I always put my log turner back down so the turner doesn’t get wrecked when somthing like that happens. And trust me that happens to everyone at some point. Also if the log turner was up a little more and the carriage happened to hit it boy oh boy you’re talking some damage then. Great video buddy. It’s good you didn’t edit it out. That’s real sawmilling

I don't know if its because of the position of the camera, but that circular saw blade has a slight wobble (shaft, and blade mounting hub) when not under load, but will settle when shaving the beams. Maybe do a PMC on, tighten the hubs, pillow block, and check the drive shaft for wear. Love your Frick 01-C auto mill, can't find quality made personal mills in these days, they're not made of quality material, and don't last as long as they once did.

Sorry for this post, it's hard to watch these vids... Curious - is it the camera doing tricks or is the blade loose (16:18)? Seems not to be running true when it's just spinning. I think I'd have a very close inspection of the blade shaft bearings. The blade has a tremendous amount of energy and would reek havoc if it were to come loose!

I think his saw guide pin just isn’t set correctly I’ve noticed the last few videos. After making a cut when coming back should hear a slight pitter patter the log just slightly touching the blade and I don’t hear that enough. So when he pushes to hard the saw will wobble and also when a sawmill is outside like that if the sun is on the saw for too long it will heat it up

That's not a mill. It's a plot of ground, with a rusted out saw. Try an enclosure, some rust remover, some clean-up, fresh paint. Now you'll have a mill. 👍

Hello JosEPh-zy3yr: 16:37 TERRIBLE!!! Blade lost its tension & needs to be hammered. Or possibly not running it at the correct speed that it is hammered for.

Blade appears to have a lot of "wobble" when out of the cut. Maybe that is just apparent due to the video, but seems to settle down when you enter the wood to make a cut. Any concern?

Yeah, it concerns me a lot. I've been working on adjust the guide thinking that the cause. If I remove the guide it won't wobble. Replace the guide and it wobbles. IDK. Biggest issue is I don't have enough time to get into a lot. I'll stumble across something that will resolve the issues. Matter of time. Thanks for watching and commenting
