What I love about him is when he sings, it's honest. He's telling you a story. Even when it's a cover, it becomes his story. He seems to be one of the few people who did one of these shows and came out of it with 100% of his identity intact. It feels like he's the exact same person that he was going in. I love that and I love that it never really felt like they commercialized him to be for the music industry. Maybe they did try, I don't really know.

That’s because he is not main stream. He’s not meant for everyone. He has a old soul. I hope Sawyer to never changes his direction. His music keeps getting better too! I’m sure he dislikes playing for the fame. He has heart and oozes raw talent. A lot of talented artist do not necessarily desire becoming famous, but rather get they’re message across? Ray lamontagne, Sturgill Simpson, turnpike Troubadours, Tyler Childers all seem to enjoy the smaller venues...

S & G has been my go to music for - ever. So to hear and see Sawyer do this great song is wonderful. Please remember Simon was 25 when the Sounds of Silence was released, just at the beginning of Simon's career that hasn't ended yet (His latest album will surely win awards, it is fantastic). Sawyer will certainly be continuing his career for as long as he pleases and go as far as he wants!!

The first few notes on the Voice and I picked him to win. I voted like crazy, and he never disappointed. Sawyer has something in his voice that is old, gone, but not forgotten. I would love to see him in person, but it's not likely to happen. Really good voices are awesome, live, in person. The judges all knew he was a diamond. My first concert was Johhney Mathis. :). He was very shy, and because of that, he spent 99.99% of his time singing. It was magical.

I've seen Sawyer live 3 times over the past couple of years. He was so shy when he opened the show for Langhorne Slim that he acted embarrassed by all the cheering when he came on stage. Honestly Sawyer steals the show in every duet/collaboration I have seen him do. I honestly put this kid up there with the likes of Seger, Dylan, and Young. This kid has an artful and soulful voice. I first heard him while traveling in Hong Kong, I think the song was something like "constant sorrow". His voice stop me dead in my tracks. I would love to hear him sing some of Jim Croche's music that was recorded in the early 70's, before the world sadly lost him.
