It's pretty cool. Katakuri saw the potential and tenacity in Luffy, never before seen in anyone's he's fought before and is literally coaching him up to win. He's by no means making it easy or giving him a shortcut, much like Rayleigh did on the island. I think since Luffy got a lesson and boost in observation haki here, he will meet a expert in armament in wano and advance there as well (maybe Zoro will too)

Interestingly, just before Luffy went G4 boundman he told Luffy that he had speed but lacked strength (which is boundman's forte) while katakuri's future sight ability could be telling us that luffy needs more speed. Snakeman seems to point have something to do with attack speed (snakes attack is extremely quick) which might give Luffy the edge to be able to attack fast enough for katakuri to be unable to react fast enough.

hi sawyer i would like to speculate luffi's gear 4 a bit,so can u look into it. Apart from the diffrenciation between 3 forms of gear 4 like gear 4 BOUNCEMAN(default)- normal armament and observation TANKMAN-specifically concentrated on armament(ultimate DEFENCE) SNAKEMAN-specifically concentrated on observation(ULTIMATE OFFENCE) i also feel like to include the amount of food he takes before he transforms to gear4 like gear 4 BOUNCEMAN(default)- normal amount of food(can move freely) TANKMAN- needs large amounts of food, (remains in one place without able to walk) SNAKEMAN-if he dint eat food for long time(he becomes so free and be able to move very fast) :) -> We got flashback from rayleigh that your enemy will not allow u to eat and might perfectly apply in this situation to support the that lufy needs to starve to get to SNAKEMAN form. ->Hmm, i might also like to speculate that SNAKEMAN form of luffy might shrink a little bit,would be able to stretch a lot any part of his body like hands and legs , very fast. ->he could blow air into his bones or sort of :/ and become boneless man and move swiftly like a snake twisting his arms seperate and legs seperate together. ->I feel that there are only three forms of gear 4,.. or there might be another form based on conqurars haki .. but not more. It's incredible, how much emphasis is put on Luffy's durability just one and a half arcs after we all said what a freaking tank Doflamingo was and how insane his durability was. That fight, Luffy was the agressor mostly, this fight Katakuri is throwing everything he has at him and Luffy just takes it like a man. So against Doffy Luffy's offense got lifted to a new level and now his defense is catching up. As always incredible story telling, character- and ability development by Oda. That's why he's the GOAT.

Two big theories out of this chapter, and both of them on fruits- smoothie and snake man. Every gear we've seen so far from luffy has concentrated on getting bigger- on pumping more air into himself- like a rubber balloon. My theory on snake man is that it is a deflation- pulling air out of his bones and muscles so that he rebounds in a much smaller form albeit in a more slithering, floppy way. It's the concept behind jet gattling- having the appearance of speed due to wavy motion in a jet pistol. This is my theory not only because of that concept but also because of gear third's weakness- shrinking. If luffy can use snake man effectively while small, the drawbacks to using gear third immediately drop to nil. I feel this could be s great setup to luffy's battle strategy. Theory on the juice juice fruit- it steals and externalizes aspects of an object. Cinnamon isn't afraid of smoothie getting too big per se- she's scared that smoothie is stealing too much "size" from the ship. This means her slash is literally throwing the "sharpness" aspect of the sword in a wave.

ArtisticAJ yes, It's getting ridiculous. Katakuri had 100's of opportunities to finish off luffy but he never did. So much for his "If i don't get rid of him now he will become a huge threat to mama"

For me this chapter setups the future fights, Jinbe vs Smoothie (she said damn that Jinbe, Jinbe fought against Ace that later become 2nd division commander of WB crew also his and smoothie power is to manipulate liquid) and Sanji vs Snack ( as it's to soon for Sanji when his captain just reach commander level, to fight commander). Ultimately when Luffy becomes Yonkou/Pirate King, Zorro will be 1st commander, Jinbe 2nd and Sanji 3rd
