Craftsman brushless tools are great. The drills and circular saw rock. The brushed tools suck balls. I finally had to give up and get a brushless jigsaw from Milwaukee

Finally found a Milwaukee vs Craftsman video for this. Lol. I have the Craftsman and I’m taking down a small fallen tree with a set of 9” and 12” Diablo pruning blades. I keep seeing everyone rave about Milwaukee and shit on Craftsman so I was curious on how they stack up. I’m a new homeowner so new to most of the tools. Got the Craftsman set during Black Friday last year. I don’t know why all the hate on Craftsman, it’s been good to me so far. Only complaint is that they seem to have some of the most expensive batteries and the 2ah batteries the set comes with are a joke. Need to get that 9 ah.

I use Milwaukee for steel demolition. 8 hrs a day 5 days a week and Milwaukee has laughed at every other sawzall ive had. 2 complaints 1. They use a screw for the guard and it always falls leaving the guard detached. 2. The rubber hand guard will start to slide down. But amazing saws

I agree man, that's the same issues we've had besides buying a few that were already burned up right out the box. I guess just a bad luck of the draw. Our 1st gen fuels were my favorite. I saw a drop in quality with our personal tools when they introduced RedLink

Just wanna mention that some saws (and other tools) have a built in overload switch that stops the tool to save internals instead of pushing through and burning out your motor.

yep you're right, we were testing exactly how far we could push each tool until that stop kicks in. the kobalts is extremely too sensitive in every task we give it.

Lowes is giving away a free power tool with a craftsman V20 battery charger combo for only $99 free shipping. I just got the craftsman and returned my DeWalt. No need to spend all that money when the v20 does a better job at a great price. I'm surprised with their new brushless saws and I'm a Milwaukee fanboy. But you got to give credit where credits due and Craftsman deserves it this time around, badass saw!

The Herculies and Bauer have no where near the power of the V20 brushless. They also start making funny noises after a few uses. I returned them both and kept the V20 brushless. I;m a Milwaukee guy but that V20 line of brusless saws are hard to beat at the price and professional level power. Harbor Frieght Fan Boys will tell you otherwise without even trying the new V20's.

@@FarmerFpv yeah, i hear ya. I was huge on Bauer tools but then when they brought out the credit card all prices started going up and still with the 90 day warranty. I've slowly started transitioning out of Bauer back to Craftsman, but I'm trying to go all brushless this time. I like Milwaukee tools, but I'm just a DIYer and can't justify the huge price difference. I can get 2 craftsman tools for the price of 1 Milwaukee tool or I can get 2 4.0ah batteries for the price of 1 Milwaukee battery.

@@fixinthecoast267 I do admit the Kobalt impact driver is good, but I think that is true for any brand that is trying to release a new line of tools. Hammer drill is not bad either but a little sensitive with the anti kickback cut out when it senses a bind.

Kobalt is a dying brand. When Lowe's brought in Craftsman, they quartered the Kobalt inventory. Now Chervon is releasing the brand new Flex tool lineup (another 24V lineup) to try and replace what they're losing with Kobalt.

I own the craftsman 2 speed hammer drill(cmcd721) and the DeWalt power detect 3 speed hammer drill(dcd998). I need it to drill 4 1/2” holes in concrete to bolt down a winch. I only did one hole with the DeWalt power detect using a 8ah battery because it started to over heat and smell funny so I finished the other 3 holes with the craftsman drill with a 4ah battery non stop without over heating. Also the craftsman drill was faster drilling out the holes compared to my DeWalt drill. And I’m a DeWalt guy but craftsman smoked my power detect drill. After that day I started getting more craftsman v20 tools. Now I have 2 lines of tools lol.

If you're already into the Milwaukee platform as far a batteries you'd be silly to buy craftsman. Milwaukee has an insane amount of tools and are constantly releasing new ones. I can't see craftsman pushing the industry with unique tools like Milwaukee does.

@fixinthecoast267 3 жыл бұрын
I agree with you, I dont see craftsman coming out with nearly the amount of tools as Milwaukee. However I will say, We've been very let down by Milwaukee's quality lately. I can't get tools to last more than 6-9months. And I've spent thousands, Fuel line, not fuel line, even corded, I'm a huge Milwaukee guy. Send them off to warranty, comes back still broken. Unfortunately I'm slowly converting to Dewalt.

@@fixinthecoast267 I'm a union carpenter and I know exactly what you mean. Honestly we get whatever the contractor has. So I get a good chance to try them all. In my honest opinion they all have their issues. I have Milwaukee stuff for my person tools but in a profession setting I'm not sure any brands stand up like we'd all like them too. The days of a Sawzall lasting 20 years or a skill saw being handed down to your son are gone unfortunately.

You're absolutely right man. Even just 5yrs ago I could get at least a year or 2 out of a good drill/impact set or like you said a Sawzall. But you're right, times sure have changed with quality but price keeps going up. That's why we we're impressed with the new craftsman tools with price to quality. Now like you said, it's a Investment in itself to jump into any line at first. I like certain tools from different brands. We like Metabo amd porter cable air nailers, Milwaukee m18 finish nailer, dewalt Corded Miter/table saw, flexvolt and Milwaukee cored skill saw. Each company has their goods and their bads. Guess you just gotta pick your poison

I will say Hilti is pretty hard to beat if you can afford them. I've had Hilti dry wall guns that were 10 years old and ran screws better than any dewalt or makita gun that's brand new. That brand is on a different level entirely.

Most of the V20 tools come with a free 4.0 battery/charger right now on the Lowe's website under a promotion they're running....but the catch is you have to find the battery combo in stock. The battery combo is out of stock online and out of stock in most local stores due to the promotion they are running. I was lucky and grabbed a couple while I could, but it looks like every Lowe's store near me is now out of stock on the battery combo. Closest store that has them in stock is over an hour away.
