Hi. Hopefully there are no mistakes in the animation. You can play along to the charts in the second section and increase the speed using the playback speed settings. Remember you will need to learn to play the chromatic scale at speed to play glissandos and fall offs. Enjoy.

Thank you so much. This was so clear, but wow - those high notes get complicated 😟

It may help to the keep in mind that higher notes are shorter effective tubing length. Lower pitch tone holes are normally open and to play them tone holes are closed by key presses. High pitch holes closer to mouthpiece are normally closed and pressing keys opens the higher pitch tone holes.

Hi Sax Comprehensive, I hope you're doing well! I’m a complete beginner and have started learning the saxophone recently. Do you think I should finish learning all the major scales before starting on the chromatic scale, or should I work on them simultaneously? I wish you were in Japan
@SaxcomprehensiveАй бұрын
Hi. Learning scales is important but is also very boring. I would suggest that you start learning to play some songs while learning the major scales. Once you learn the major scales you will also know how to play the chromatic scale as you would have learnt all the notes on the saxophone. The quickest way to learn the sax is learning stuff that is fun. Learning scales should not occupy most of your time learning. Spend a few minutes learning a scale then move on to more interesting things to keep you motivated. Thanks

What?

That's some fancy advanced mistaking, I got confused at A#=Bb lowest note of alto and I should have known better at the time. Now I've got to figure out if I'm looking at transposed or concert pitch, most likely it is transposed for Eb Concert pitch = C written transposed and something to keep in mind when using a tuner

you didnt play it for us 😢

His focus is on teaching you to play, he does an astonishing excellent job at that. If he's not entirely satisfied with how he plays there are 1 or 2 KZbin channels he could watch for huge improvement with little effort, unlike us total beginners, but his playing great won't help you learn what is being taught.
