The heck with Iron Maiden, Judas, and the rest of NWOBHM. Saxon rules and always has. Every album has at least 6 great songs that the other bands WISH they had. Saxon always have the best riffs, leads, interesting bridges, songs that are so great. I still listen to the other bands but compare all these groups personally and maybe you will think what I'm thinking. Certainly I'm not wishing a war as you are all my metal brothers( if you really believe the creedo for Metal fans). Long Live NWOBHM

I didn't say they they weren't any good. How many songs has Iron Maiden, one of my fave bands has made since Powerslave that were so good. Not many. Judas Preist has fared a little better but they can't hold anything up to what Saxon has put out since the very beginning. Saxon simply writes great songs and plays them well every year since their beginning.

@chrisM33 Iron Maiden, god love em, barely make one song every cd worth listening too. They still are a great band, bigger than all the other Heavy metal bands except Judas. Maybe I just moved on past them but I will always like all three forever. It take's more than just the ability to play chords. It has to sound good.

@1727able, saca a Metallica de esa lista porque ellos copiaron los diferentes estilos de las otras bandas de Heavy Metal que mencionas. Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Saxon, Iron Maiden son los maestros del Heavy Metal y lo mas grande que jamas ha existido en el genero del Metal.

I actually prefer modern Saxon to classic Saxon, it's all great of course, but the modern production values appeal to me more. I also feel their songwriting has progressed quite a bit from the early days.

I dont know man, the older stuff i think was way better. The original lineup is one of the best ever. The guitar dueling from the old days were sooo good. I would say they were even up to par with bands like priest and maiden if not better. Just listen to Dallas 1pm

@ shredder- You don't get it. Was you in Europe when the dam began to break. I was and for another 14 years. Europe rocks compasred to the USA. USA fans are the lamest concert goers. Brazil tops them all and the rest of South America and Latin America. Iron Maiden had the money push behinf them and massive Public push. But musically since powerslave they have recorded few few great singles and as a whole they live on the bread a butter of they're past stuff.
