8:12.. yeah Dr W. I get this stuff now... yes .. that F is most simply heard as b3 to D (out) no great need to hear F as also b9 the Emii (out).. ..its also .. b6 to the AV7 (out) .. Im not trying to teach.. just to show evidence that I can finally hear whats important to pay attention to ( and hence not be crunching harmony when one has enough information already) this is the best and clearest lesson Ive every (seen and HEARD ) or maybe Im finally just ready for it ? .. but wow.. what fantastic stuff !!! ... loud and clear !! ... 1 million thanks.. and then some !

I think it’s important to note that the ii-V is used in jazz blues, but not always, and in popular music it’s much more common to use V-IV (and it’s not unusual for jazz players to substitute that).
@drwallysax
@drwallysax 2 жыл бұрын
In rock and the "blues" genre, absolutely. I teach classical and jazz where the ii/V is fairly ubiquitous when a "blues" is called.

This way of practicing is just what I need. Tempo down to 50 percent and listen. I can feel it. Thankyou! For the last couple of days I have been trying in this way to copy the sax in Billie Holidays "It had to be you". Waou - this is inspiring. Whenever she takes a breath, the sax comes in and makes it divine. There is a lot to be learned, I think. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJ28l5SAjtNonLc
