Every now and then horses have to be sold. Also this time. I didn't expect them to be picked up by now. Very sad, but we have to move on. Richtsje and Sjirkje make way for the young horses. Aww, a bittersweet video 😢😢. Goodbye to the gorgeous Sjirkje and Richtsje 🙋🙋! So pleased that they are both going to Richtsje's birthplace though 😊. I know that they'll be much loved and well cared for there. Their new owners seem to be lovely people 😊😊. Oh, Geertje (and Yvonne and the rest of the team at Stal G) 😭😭! I know exactly how you're feeling 😞😞. This video reminded me of saying goodbye to my old loan cob, Jazz when he went to his new home 😭😭. It's so hard NOT to get attached to horses when you love and care for them for a period of time, and it's heart breaking to say goodbye, whether they are going to a new home, or over the Rainbow bridge 😭😭. Careful Reintje - don't hurt yourself 🙈🙈! She definitely seemed to want to be off that wagon as quickly as possible 😂😂. Am I right in thinking that Reintje isn't a fan of travelling? I'm sure that Yvonne has mentioned in a previous video that she can be a bit hit or miss to load 😣😣! I'm definitely with you there Yvonne - I definitely don't want Reintje (or Saly for that matter) to be sold 😖😖! They are such loving and gentle mares, and fabulous mothers 😍😍😍😍. So pleased that you own Uniek, and that she won't be going off to the unknown 😍😍. Sanne and Reina are looking quite relaxed now without their Mem's - successfully weaned, and growing into beautiful teenagers 😍😍. Pieter and Rinse Janko are very handsome too 😍😍. Will be interesting to see how you divide up the youngsters when you bring them in - I suppose you'll need to decide which horses are happy to go together, which ones argue and which ones are confident/ comfortable in themselves to go in a stable on their own 😊😊.

I also am curious to see who stables with who with the 2s and 1s (well, time flies, we really should be calling them the 3s and 2s very shortly) We will have some insight with stable mates who is dominate and who is mellow. Jacobien and Jildou seem to be the dominate fillies of that group.

@Pale Jeffje - I seem to have noticed that all of Someone's daughters have been quite dominant, despite the fact that Sjirkje herself was bottom in the hierarchy most of the time 😂😂. Jacobsen on the other hand, has obviously learnt from Mother, Elsje 😂😂.

I think that Geertje does an excellent job with the camera & filming. It's nice to see Yvonne in FRONT of the camera interacting with the horses sometimes. Great job, Geert! I understand that a lot of people enjoy the peaceful quietness of the silent videos. I've read the comments from people talking about how they find those videos to be relaxing during stressful times. When it comes to videos taken in the meadow or pasture, or on the trail rides, I 100% agree. However - - - I'm greedy. Not only do I want pretty pictures; but, I want to learn about the horses and their care as well. Therefore, I find equal enjoyment in the "how-to" & "horse behavior explained" videos. I wonder if anyone agrees? I love it when Yvonne tells us things about the horses that we wouldn't know otherwise. I most especially love the videos where Yvonne & Geertje "horse around". Ha! Ha! Other Stal G folks are also quite nice to see and hear when they are up to it. Rinske has made several great appearances, and has helped film a few times. She's good, too! Aww I know it’s never easy when you have to say goodbye to any of the herd all of them become family. The positive is that Ritchsje and Sjirkje are going back to Ritchsje’s birthplace together and I have no doubt they will be well taken care of plus they’re only a drive away.❤️❤️ I will definitely miss seeing Ritchsje though she is a favorite of mine and is such a sweet gentle soul. The perfect ending to this video was Faya and Risy sharing a quiet moment he is so curious loving nothing more than interacting with his human herd that is a testament to both Uniek’s mothering skills,being raised by Friesian’s as well as Yvonne’s horse whisper skills and her loving gentle nature. Risy truly won the lottery for his 2nd chance as did all of us because we’ve gotten the privilege of watching this very special colt grow up it’s not every day we find such a remarkable story.🐎🌟🥰🥰

These two are so beautiful! We miss them! I’m so glad that they are going together to Richstje’s birth stable. Stal G now has a good number of young kroon & ster mares from their own mare lines. I’m just so glad that our Queen Uniek was able to stay in her birthplace! We would never have seen the beautiful, true life story of how she & Risey met. I know very little about horses, but I believe that having a mature, fully-trained, loving, confident, unflappable mare with Uniek’s great personality would be an asset to any stable’s herd! 😪🥰❤️

It must be hard saying Goodbye,though I knew they left I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes. I'm glad they left together,bye Richtsje and Sjirkje have a wonderful life. I'll never forget how upset Sjirkje was looking for Sanne out in the meadow,then hearing her calling out from in the barn ran into the barn. Richtsje was so sweet,they will be missed!!! Reina has really grown and love that she and Sanne are together. If Sanne leaves I'll be crying me a river ,she has such a great personality and is my favorite next to Rising Star. I'm glad we saw Rising Star already weaned already but I have a feeling he and Uniek still were not happy about it. Now,though he is 5 mths. old and it is the time to be separated from his Mem. Thank you Yvonne for being sensitive to both Uniek and Rising Star's needs.Thank you Uniek for being such a loving,caring Mem for Risy;I don't think the bond will be broken. Thank God for bringing together Rising Star and Uniek,certainly a Heavenly Match. xxx

You can tell the good breeders from the not so good ones by how they feel when they have to sell horses that have been there for so long that it brings a tear to your eye. Breeders that only care about the money aspect of the job probably don't treat their horses very well. I was going to foster for the local animal control you usually would foster young dogs but not sure how attached I would get so still thinking about it. My friend and his wife mostly his wife run a cat rescue and they have 17 cats now. They have some money and have a big house one room is like a great room and leads out to the enclosed pool deck that is where all the cat houses and play toys are in, another is just for them to eat and a third room is for these gigantic litter boxes. What is amazing is their house doesn't smell like cat but they do have a full time and a part time housekeeper.

You give the horses a name and introduce us to their personalities - it’s hard to remember that this is priority one a business. Without the profits, the stall, employees and horses would not exist. They are not like a pets (long term commitment). Uniek and maybe RS will stay longer because Yvonne owns them. 😢

I'd be interested in some videos of how Yvonne and her husband are renovating their new horse property. Building a new stable would be very exciting! One farming family I know in Wyoming put up a video on digging post holes for a fence and it got half a million views ;-)

I'm always happy to see the colts and fillies. The first time that I watched Friesian Horses was May 2021. It was Rising Star meeting his foster mom Uniek. Since I watch other animal videos, that came up in my feed. I will never forget that beautiful and inspirational story! I watched it several times over the months. I loved following the foals and their progress. And now that they are weaned, we don't get to see them as much. I've missed seeing them and appreciate any little glimpse that we get of them.

And this year they will go for training and, hopefully, the inspection. In a year or two they will have their own foals to raise. Heart-warming and bittersweet at the same time. Fairly soon we will have new foals to love this year!

almost like surgery here today! an e d of an era with the herd losing two long term adults, the horses stalls being moved and Rising Star being weaned...what a day for Stal G, but as Yvonne says, lets just keep going...A good buyer is to be snapped up in order to cull and promote for the sake of the herd...Yes ..not Reintje...the stunner...Queen Uniek and Rising Star are safe. It's good that Rein is the captain to make the hard decisions and not Yvonne... Hope the rest of the day went well!

In this video, Yvonne says, "Of course I hope that Reintje will never be sold." Now, here we are in April of 2023, and Yvonne has just posted a video where it was announced that Reintje will be going to Stal H, Yvonne's very own, newly furnished Stable! How cool is that? Yvonne didn't want to say goodbye to Reintje, and now "Goodbye" at Stal G is "Hello" at Stal H. Fantastic!!! 👁❤Friesian 🐎🐎🐎!

OM Goodness, look at their trailer, squeaky CLEAN, we know these beauties are going back to a fabulous home!!! This is why it's so hard when we get too attached to our beautiful animals in our care. tears tears tear, but know these beautiful girls are going to an EXCELLENT HOME, it's after that home where they go frighten me. I am saddened to hear the stories of multiple owners, but these being purebreds they should stay. You girls and your cliffhangers............ I was so excited to see Uniek go out and collect the 1 and 2 year olds, and where they end up in the stalls. Oh well, tomorrow's another day - hopefully!

Oh wat gaat het pijn doen als het Reintje is... Met Geertje zo'n mooie Kroon halen, en met nog enkele veulentjes onderweg richting inspectie, hopelijk ook sterretjes, zou het leuk zijn om haar een extra titel kunnen te geven, maar als het nog bij stal G is? Uh oh, Risey zijn laatste uren (minuten) bij mama zijn aangebroken. Ja, nu dat de paarden naar binnen komen voor de winter moet het wel, ook al zou Uniek hem nog altijd goed dulden. Ze mag ook haar winterrust hebben, hé. ;) Ik kijk uit naar die video! Moest het een leuk onderwerp zijn, een stalbezoek aan Richtje en Sjirkje als het mag van de eigenaar? Het zou ook leuk zijn om te horen hoeveel Friese paardenkwekers er zijn in Friesland, of Nederland. Geen idee over hoe een grote aantallen het gaat, en zijn er kwekers met grotere en kleinere stallen? Is stal G een stal van gemiddelde grootte?

The Original Owners got back an extraordinary Mare. Both Horses were great and so noble. I am going to miss them, especially Richtsje. I always considered her a Princess to Queen Uniek.

I knew Sjirkje was the smallest horse in the stable, but i never realised she was that much smaller, she made Richtsje look fairly large. Sweet horses, I'll miss seeing them, but they are going to a good home, and they are together.

Yes, when they did measure Richtsje 1.65 m and Sjirkje 1.60 m. Richtsje is also powerfully built in the hind quarters.

Actually, Saly is the shortest, but I think it was just by a hair. She and Sjirkje both measured at 1.6, but Yvonne said Sjirkje was a tiny bit taller. I remember at the end of part 4 measuring video that Uniek and Saly were modeled together as the tallest and shortest. It would be interesting to see the younger horses measured...Geertje, Gea, Hester, Ginny. It is possible that Gea could be shorter than Saly. Maybe we will see them measured now that they are fully grown. 🧡🧡

@@shellyross8283 Yes, you are correct Shelly. Saly was a bit shorter than Sjirkje. We do know Gea is the shortest of the adult mares right now. She measured 1.58 meters at inspection. The minimum height allowed for a ⭐ predicate. I think height order of the 4 mentioned. Tallest to shortest: Geertje, Hester, Ginny and Gea.

I am not at all surprised that Ginny is on the smaller size, like her mem. But, as we know, great things come in small packages. Speaking of Saly, I look forward to seeing her back at Stal G. I miss that pretty girl! But I know her time away has been very good for her. 🧡🧡

Can a horse person explain the shuffling of the stalls please? I saw in a different video the horses picking their own? I understand separating the boys and the pregnant ones because they get a birthing stall, but dont the rest just go in whatever? Lastly how did the stall shuffle force weaning with RS? thanks!

hopefully horses being sold and leaving stal g and new foals being born at stal g will help the gene diversification to continue for the friesian breed in general....I just hope that all breeding stables go to as much trouble as yvonne and rein do in their genetic trait analysis to keep the breeding coefficients very low in the breed in general. it may take many years and many generations and conscientious breeding practices to overcome the inbreeding problem that has haunted the greatest and most beautiful horse breed in the world. so when I see horses being sold and leaving stal g I see the potential positives in it.

I couldn't help but cry as those two beauties left. I don't mind that the videos are not in chronological. I sometimes do not see the videos on the day they come out. I then binge-watch to try to get caught up! I love seeing al your horses. Makes me wish that I could own a horse again! My niece had the opportunity to work with Fresians years ago. I think it was a breeders ranch.

The hardest part of the horse business. I always got emotional especially since I was foal manager and had been there for the birth of each one 😢 It's impressive that the breeder wanted to to buy them back but that doesn't make it any easier. Those beautiful girls will be missed❤️‍🩹

At least you know without a doubt that they will be cared for like the queens they are, and will improve the breed even more. And you have room for the new young (future) mothers, and starting your own little horse. Ginny is a soon star mare, and Frieda will crown in a year or two. Both will gain points and be dressage notables, and their babies will be amazing! Sanne will be an amazing mare, and Reina has a grand future as well! You will be so busy! And you can visit these lovely mares, and maybe someday they will return too!
