Memories of 70’s Lagos! My late Mum used to chuckle at his murder of the Yorùbá language, but she loved the rhythm & the fact that his effort at singing in Yorùbá was the best she’d ever heard any non-Yorùbá attempt‼️

I'm happy and sad at the same time listening to this song. Happy it brought back memories of the good life we lived back in the day growing up as a kid and sad at what Nigeria has turned to now.

Without a doubt! It’s amazing how most of his lyrical compositions with the Equals always were translated into Yorùbá by Lagos kids: Baby Come Back was changed to “Sikira t'ọwọ b'ọ́bẹ, ébí l'on'pa"‼️ Viva Bobby-Jo was changed to: "Síkírá bámijò"‼️

I am very Igbotic but because we are very open minded and sociable people we enjoy anything good. We enjoyed this song as well then in Umuahia. I still remember how my very good friend,Okechukwu Dickson, now a pastor, used to dance to this song. I am not sure there's any person who could have choreographed the song better than Okechukwu Dickson.
