Right on point, it’s not about our health, but they want us to spend our money elsewhere, with them. Same with alcohol. They want us to stop drinking so we can keep spending with them. But, it’s alright, we grow and brew our own.

Thanks always looking for a good read,we've traded personal choice for the government deciding what is & is not healthy or good,born in the 50's grew up in 60's & 70's,served in the military in the 80's,well I've seen the change & survived lead paint,asbestos,drinking from a hose,explosives in the military & other things so I say no to the Nanny State 🙏🇺🇸

I had my first pipe in weeks just yesterday. While I did miss it a bit, I wasn't that bothered about it. The reason I went so long was both weather and the cold running through the household. I don't smoke indoors and the sun disappears pretty early this time of year. Thanks for the book recommendations.

I remember the whole homeschool cerfukle of the 90s. They always interviewed the same mother, very uneducated dirty holding a baby on her hip with snot running down its face… was never like that but the state sure wanted the populace to think that’s what we looked like. Probably a good thing… had two uncles in the military so my Brother and I wore a lot of hand-me-down camouflage, the old woodland camo pattern. 😂 . Still homeschool my oldest son, my youngest needs help with dislexia so we are trying the local school district out, and honestly to my surprise he is flourishing. We are still checking his education and what he is learning and still teaching him our values and morals.

My wife homeschooled both our daughters in the 90s and they both turned out great with awesome careers. I enjoyed your view of the books and as always you are a great historian who is such a joy to watch.

Marks son was making pipes for a bit and I got some of his and they are excellent, I hope he one day gets back to it. I also feel gov has become to big and as a nation we need to acknowledge that and we the people need to examine how we can change things and I think it's already started by the huge mandate given to Trump and some of his plans and forming Doge.

The problem is that most people don't want the things that they enjoy to be regulated by a nanny state, but they are more than happy to tolerate a nanny state regulating things of which they do not approve. If one wants the government out of people's business, it has to be across the board--cannabis, magic mushrooms, etc. Once the foot is in the door, it doesn't stop. After a couple of children have died after consuming large quantities of energy drinks, there has now been discussion about regulating caffeine.

@@servouk Who gets to determine what is moral and immoral? Many think that tobacco is immoral. Cannabis and mushrooms are natural products, part of God's green earth. Genesis 1:29: God gives every seed-bearing plant and fruit tree for food, symbolizing the provision and sustenance provided by God.

@ the Church has, does and always will. Without a guiding moral framework we are hopeless. The apples in the Garden of Eden were 'natural products' but Adam and Eve were warned that consuming them was immoral.

By that logic opium should be completely legal also. However I agree with you, all are natural products given to us to use. They only become immoral when you are addicted/can't control your use of them

@ I believe that opium should be legal too. Not because I advocate its use, but because prohibitions are counter-productive and only serve to increase black market crime. It is not the role of government to enforce morality. Reliance on the government to do so is what has led to our current lack of any sense of personal responsibility.

There are no known armed robberies attributed to "pipe tobacco deal gone bad" or deaths attributed to pipe tobacco impaired driving. Yet marijuana and alcohol (with their extensive negative effects) are socially accepted, while pipe tobacco and premium cigars are put into the same dirty category as cigarettes. Frustrating!!!

In NY city if someone is smoking cannabis in a hotel room the staff will do nothing.If a cigar is smoked they will call the cops and have you arrested.There is a bizarre virtue signalling anti tobacco mania in society.

People will complain about how bad "tobacco" is for you (they always mean cigarettes btw) but then drink a Coke with their seed oil infused food. Health issues caused by modern diets have more than likely kill more people in just the last 3 years than pipe/cigar smoking has ever killed since their inceptions
