Jesse, it was amazing. You have a very soothing voice. When I was younger my dad would say, just play the guitar, you don’t need to sing. That sounds terrible.That was 60 years ago. To this day, I am still hesitant to sing when I play, I just can’t seem to get over that. Thanks dad!☹️ I look very much forward to hearing you sing more in the future. Funny enough the song where Jesse sings was the first reason in a train of lucky circumstances that led me to attending his concert. Back in Ukraine when at university I somehow ended up having Down Like Rain on my phone. And must say my beloved collection of music travels with me from phone to phone, so I kept listening to it for years. But not really recognizing the name as familiar I never thought of digging more on the singer thinking it's probably someone random (sorry Mr. Cook, remember it's in distant Ukraine and I'll omit how I got the song 🙂). And then I moved to Canada, and some more years later in Aug 2018 was randomly scrolling through Facebook when this ad from Banff Arts Centre picked my subconscious' attention because it was for Jesse Cook's concert. I didn't put the two and two together right away (as I said, just the subconsciousness got triggered), but listened to the promo video, and oh my Goodness! that Spanish guitar sound is what I always loved so much! So I got tickets right away, and couple days later realized that I always had and loved one of the rare songs Jesse sang. It was the best concert of my life (and I was to Beyonce)! Was going to enjoy it again in March 2020, so hopefully it'll still happen soon ❤

Saw Jessie a couple of weeks ago in Escondido 1/30/22 where he blew the roof off the place. The emotion in his music brings tears of joy to my eyes. I drove from Los Angeles to see him and to try to get out of the COVID Funk. It worked!

Oh my, what a wonderful surprise! The way you sing this song melts my heart. Singing isn't always about the quality of the voice, it is more about the performer's ability to convey the emotion of the song, and for that it appears you have a gift. Your voice added to this song and improves the over all performance of the song, more than if you had only played it on your guitar. I can think of other singers that were loved all over the world for the way they performed. Leonard Cohen, and Jimmy Durante are just a couple I can think of, who had a gift for putting a song across in a way that always reached the hearts of their audiences, despite their not have Josh Groban voices. They are a couple of examples of what could be considered pretty rough and untrained voices, but people were so tuned into their delivery of the song, that the quality of their voice was never considered a negative in their performances. I am in no way suggesting that your voice is rough like Cohen's or lacks range like Durante's; rather I'm saying that even singers with voices that many would consider flawed, sang songs in such a unique and wonderful way, that they drew enormous audiences from all over the world. Your voice, on the other hand is hardly flawed. You sing on key, you have good range, and you have a real gift for connecting with the song and conveying the emotion of it to your listeners. If I didn't know better, I would think that you wrote the song from a current personal experience. I love that your voice is so enmeshed with the song that it is like an extension of the music coming out of your guitar. It is as though both your guitar and your voice become one united expression of this song. I love it! Please sing more songs. (Now I'm starting to be curious about whether you have a gift for writing lyrics as well). Amazing blending of the various tracks of voice and guitar. The credits indicate that you did the blending, all the guitar tracks and all the voice tracks. What an amazing feat! Multi-talented that is for sure!

I remember starting to listen to this song (different artist) while sitting next to my mother as she was passing away... Although timely in essence I had to turn it off as I was not giving up on her. I spoke softly to her of my love and gratefulness for her as my mother. I could only hope my voice and gentle caresses helped comfort her as she left this world. She was there for me when I took my first breath as I was there for her as she took her last. I for the first time just listened to this song in it's entirety as Jesse sang it. He is my most favorite guitarist on the planet. Thank you Jesse for what feels like you sang this song just for me.

Touches the soul. Unrequited love is what I feel from this song, but it's deeper than that.
