This was never going to be easy and I'm sorry to put out such an emotional video... But beyond the sadness I am so incredibly grateful to have experienced a bond so deep and pure with an animal, with my Layla. I will forever carry her essence and unconditional love in my heart and take it with me on all my adventures to come.

I lost my little puppy dog “ Resses “ three years ago, and I still have not gotten over it she was absolutely the most beautiful dog. Every time ( and I mean every time !!!!) I would take her for a walk everybody would always stop me to find out what kind of a dog she was and to tell me how beautiful she was. She probably got more compliments in one day than I have gotten in my entire life Everybody would complement me and I would say that I am just a fan just like everybody else is !! I owned my own business, so I was able to take her everywhere that I went every day When I think of actual bad days that I’ve had in my life, I think pound for pound, putting her down was probably one of my worst days RIP Resses ❤️

I watched the first 5 minutes and couldn't go on. We lost our precious Bongo almost a year ago. Sweetest basset hound ever. Had melanoma in his mouth. We opted for surgery and meds. Bless you sweet girl. Hardest thing we do as pet parents. It's never easy. And we never forget.

Everytime she came up to you when you were talking about the situation,she knew the situation why you were crying & showing you that it is ok,& that she thanks you for being in her life ! Had to say goodbye to my Husky Mandy a few years back.She was my best friend and went everywhere with me.Not a day goes bye that I don't think of her.It's so true about the unconditional love they give us.We just adopted two miniature Shnauzers.Loud and naughty little buggers but they make life fun again.Time will help you heal and I hope a new Layla will be in your life again.

Had to do this a few years ago, was very sudden and a fast decision had to be made. My friend at work reminded me that we have to be good, responsible pet parents and not let them keep suffering, that comment helped me out quite a bit. ❤

@@greg4876 I've had cats for more years than I wish to share. My last dog was the runt of the litter. She was my buddy, and traveled with me on road trips. When I had just one cat, I had a job that required extensive travel. The cat traveled with world with me in the passenger compartment. He had very unusual markings and was great in his carrier. He had close to 150,000 frequent flyer miles. You'll find that cats can be just as loyal as dogs, and if you start walking them on a lead with a harness, keep up rather well on hikes.They're also good icebreakers with people.

Having been a dog owner for many years, putting your best friend down is always tough. When faced with a sick best friend, what do you do? It is not a decision that can be taken lightly. Knowing that you have saved Layla from pain and suffering is the best you can do in life. She will always be in your heart and soul, and you will always remember her. Time heals all wounds, or so they say, but some wounds take a lot longer to heal. You will go on, but will always hold a special place for her. Stay strong, move on, and grow from this experience.

Juliana, I had a Labrador Retriever. Her name was Leila. She was my sweet sweet girl. She only got 4 years on this Earth. But I like to think I gave her a fulfilled life. She went with me everywhere and visited many states with me. Her passing lead me to my Maxi boy. A German Short Hair. I saved him from being put down bc the pound was to full. Now he wants to go with me everywhere. I’ll always miss my sweet Leila. That’s a part of my heart that may never heal.

I've been through this myself. I wasn't able to go with my wife to have our 14 year old dog put to sleep. It was killing me and I just couldn't do it. The thought of me allowing our vet to end his lfe was more than I could stand. Yes it wasthe right thing to do so our dog wouldn't have to be in pain anymore but looking in his eyes he still was bright and happy. I'll never forget him!

I love this video even tho it’s centered around the loss of a beloved pet. You took so many videos and pictures. I have many videos and pictures of my Leila. Regrettably her first time to the river I didn’t record as I was too caught up in the moment. She was a Lab. So water was pretty much her natural environment. Be strong, find peace and comfort in the Lord. He will.make things right one day. It's very hard to lose a faithful companion and it's ok to let it out, it actually helps to vent it out. Just came across this vid and wanted to comment and say that of course it is sooo easy to go thru this and be devastated.You gave her a great life and she seemed to come over and say that its OK when you were crying.They are so intelligent and sense what is happening.I have a 7 yr old GSD that I inherited last year bc my brother passed away.We/I have had numerous dogs over the years and have had to go thru this on several occasions and it NEVER gets easier.No lie,I will have a hard time when it is her time bc me and my brother were very close and I know he would have told me to take care of her.She is my last tie to him and I am the only family member left.IMO you made the right decision bc we do not want them to suffer.🙏for you and you will see her again at some point.She will be taken care of in heaven.

God Bless you for doing this video. The process literally killed my Father. He put his Dog down on a Thursday and lost consciousness on Friday and never returned. Dogs don't live long enough but they belong with us forever!
