I teared up. I never had the chance to meet him, but every account I hear described him with nothing but kind words. He will never be forgotten.

The first, and only, time I saw him was at Gfest 2012, and it was awesome. I wish I could’ve been there at Gfest 2019. Rest In Peace, you legend.

That was a beautiful video Kim. Doing my best in holding tears, but may he rest in peace. May you rest with your fellow crewmates, Akira Takarada. You will be missed. 😢

I had the privilege to spend time with him and interview him in 2018. He was a kind and gentle soul. The two days I spent with him changed my life for the better.

Takarada-san was a consummate gentleman who exuded warmth and class wherever he went. It was my great privilege to meet him on two occasions. The second was at G-FEST 2019; I was the first in his line that morning and you could hear the cheers coming from a mile away as he arrived. He appeared around the corner giving out high fives, and when he got to me, he acted as though mine hit too hard and shook his hand comically. Sadly, there was a big rush to get through everyone as quickly as possible, so I wasn't able to chat much. The first was at a show some years back in New Jersey. There, I was able to talk to him briefly about a couple of non-kaiju/SF movies he was in, including TALES FROM THE UNDERWORLD: THE BIG BOSS, in which he sings a couple of numbers. I summoned my courage and sung a couple of bars, then trailed off, forgetting the lyrics...until he joined in and we finished the chorus together. That is and ever shall be one of my fondest memories. 宝田さん、どうもありがとうございました。私達は、あなたのことを決して忘れません。You will never be forgotten.

I met Akria as well at G-Fest 2019, don't know if we saw eachother but he was a really wholesome dude, really grounded and kind. It was so sad when I looked at my news feed and found out of his passing. RIP Akira Takarada.

One of my biggest regrets is never getting the chance to meet akira takarada because I always wanted to tell him how much godzilla ment to me and how it made me what I am today, it's never easy when someone you watch growing up passes on because it just feels like a void in your heart that can never be filled but I will always remember akira-San for he was there in the movies I enjoyed watching, even though I never got the chance to meet him I feel I known him my entire life, but instead of feeling grief I will always be happy with the memories he has given me, good bye old friend.

I think the Requiem was inappropriate piece to use I used it in the two videos I did in honor of him it seemed appropriate seeing as how that music marked the end of an era and his death truly is the end of an era
