I love her speed ,when I was twirling back in the late 70' s & 80's they didn't focus too much on all of the acrobats as they do now . It was about the twirl, tricks ,& speed . Which is what I like to see . That's what I remember about the beauty of baton .

YES that’s what I’m talking about. Where is it? What happened? We had a lot more tricks, more difficulty, and speed. I always thought gymnastics covered for the fact you can’t really twirl. And dance is for dance twirl team! Argh....

I have been searching for real twirlers. Can anyone explain what has happened? It’s all gymnastics and contemporary dance and not nearly as difficult as what we did in the 70s. And it’s so slow. Yes, I’m an old fart and although I only won a state championship once, I competed around the US and in nationals every year and I don’t recognize this sport at all now.
