The style of dance you saw in "Ace" and "Drip Drop" is what you need to expect for Taemin. He has a very sensual/sexy way of moving and, as a soloist, it's kind of his signature thing. That is why all his songs are titles like "Danger," "Soldier" "Sexuality," "Tiger," "Press Your Number," "Guess Who," "Mystery Lover," "Hypnosis," "Crazy 4 U," "Flame of Love," " Under My Skin," "Thirsty," "Want," etc. or "Ace," "Door, "Pretty Boy," "Move" "Artistic Groove," "Famous," etc. Each song is meant to show you exactly why he is one of the best in the industry even just by their tittles. He has said that he has worked his whole career to be known as the best of the best and he has even said: "I have pushed myself to create my own unique identity that differs from the standard K-pop." His onstage persona is of someone who is an expert at seducing audiences and viewers. However, as is the duality that is Taemin, he is so innocent and shy off stage that he blushes beat red whenever he tries to flirt with someone or even just act cute. LOL

"Drip Drop" was filmed in California, near L.A., at Vasquez Rocks National Park. Because California is a union state the staff and backup dancers needed to be from California and they needed to use union members in order to get permits and to be given permission to film there, so that is one of the reasons why they decided to use non-Asian, western backup dancers. All the choreography was 100% Taemin inspired and he helped choreograph the dance. There is a reason why Taemin is considered one of THE BEST dancers and artists in the industry And as you can see, he owns his nickname as the Korean Micheal Jackson. No one can do what Taemin does -- many have attempted to copy him -- but there is just something special about the way he moves that can't be duplicated. The MV for "Press your Number" which is the title track of his "Press It" album which is the album that "Drip Drop" is also on, was also filmed while they were in L.A. so the actors and dancers in that video are also L.A. actors/dancers (and probably were some or all of the same people used in the 'Drip Drop" MV.) For "Drip Drop" they only made a performance version of the MV. However, for " Press Your Number" there is both a traditional story-based MV and a performance MV. You should really check out the performance version of "Press Your Number" to see even more of Tamin's dancing.

It's no surprise that you think Taemin looks a lot like Kai. They are known for the fact that they are very similar. They are often even considered twins. As you already know, Kai and Taemin are best friends. Taemin and Kai's personalities are almost identical. That is one of the reasons why they are best friends. When on stage they both can turn their fierce, sexy, sensual side up to 3000 and they become the most powerful and magnificent performers that command the stage. But the minute they step off the stage they become soft spoken, quiet and shy and they blush when people compliment them for their looks or performance. They both have a crazy work ethic and a need to always be working hard to continuously be the best in everything they do, and they would rather be working then doing almost anything else. But when they allow themselves to play they become little kids with a pure and innocent streak. It's scary how much alike Kai and Taemin really are. They are the youngest/ almost youngest members in their groups. Taemin in particular is known for being sort of innocent and kind of naive and a little ditsy as only the makenae of a group can get away with -- he is 2 to 4 years younger than the rest of the SHINee members and he plays up being the baby when he is around them and they pretty much will do anything he asks. He knows how to be cute when he wants something, but he hates it when someone asks him to act cute. LOL. Taemin and Kai also were in the same trainee program together and went to school together after they joined SM. They became trainees when they were around 11/12 years old. However, Taemin debuted about 4 years before Kai. So even though they are friends from the same generation, Taemin is considered Kai's senior. Kai and Taemin are so much alike in looks, same age group, dancing skills, background, family dynamics,. personality, etc. that, within the industry, they are often thought of as twins -- they even have some of the same mannerisms, personality traits and nicknames. (You really should see some of their pictures together when they were younger, you would be surprised how much they look alike.) ty. Interesting stuff. Kai and taemin don't look anything alike to me. Kai does not appeal at all. But Taemin is my bias. He hot af. I think maybe Kai learned stuff from Taemin since he is such a great dancer. I know many of the younger idols study Taemin, Rain, Taeyang and other legends in the industry. I am glad Taemin has good friends who accept him as is and share the same work ethic.

I just found this video, thank you for sharing your reactions. I've been listening to verions of Ace and Heaven all day and I guess that's why it came up. I already follow Caitlyn and know that she loves Taemin, SHINee, SuperM, and others but it's nice to see her falling for our favorite maknae in this one. (I also watch your reactions as well, after finding you through Caitlyn a while back.) I don't think Taemin had a tan. I believe it's a treatment the film editor used but I could be wrong. I don't think he was in California long enough to tan plus even his eyebrows were orangey. I think SM did a matchy thing like they did with Minho's red har in the Dont Call Me mv.
