Jin was the one that hit the high note and some of the low notes in dionysus He said he was asked back into the studio to scream into the mic while recording for this song That's how he got the nickname RockJin

Fr tho it was all over the place what the heck😮. The person who made this must have really not known what they were doing. I get they may have been a little confused because of the effects that were being put on their vocals but some of those mistakes were a little more than just being confused they were just not knowing their voices well enough or not listening closely enough. Cause I mean most of the time you can for sure tell the difference between jimin and jk at least. It's up to ARMY to translate these kinds of things for people who don't speak Korean so it makes me sad to see such drastic or varied mistakes and people watching the lyric video not knowing when the wrong person is highlighted for a particular part since it's the first time they've heard the song and the singing parts aren't labeled properly😔
@namlunb21405 жыл бұрын
That highnote in Dionysus was Jin, apparently a producer or smth asked him to scream when Jin was leaving the company building 😂 *I can just imagine his fAce* But there *was* also a part in the Dionysus choreography where they do a little twirl, fall on the ground and do push ups (43:34). The members kept injuring themselves, like hitting their chin on the ground, slipping while doing the twirl etc. .So they changed the choreography on that part 💜

The song is about getting drunk on artistic creation. Like a mania of sorts. Also, after Tae sings the low notes in the beginning, jin takes over the low AND high notes. It's amazing :) it's jin screaming in the background in the end. Jamais vu is that song you need when life takes a huge jump off the cliff and it's not a cliff but a rocky mountain and you get all bruised and shit. It's like a disinfectant and a bandaid. 💜 I'm so glad you liked home. Tae's last line had me sit in my chair for ten minutes going "....what just happened?" when i first heard it. A little like the whole of Dionysus. I hope this doesn't count as a spoiler for later, but carl jung called dianysia a gateway between persona and shadow (if i remember right, it's been a year since i read the book), and bts's end of the year performances imitated the first part of dianysia festival, as if to prepare us for the meeting with suga's Shadow. It's a little amazing. Now i go to the library again to borrow the book. I don't like being wrong and i read so much i forget what is from where, so i might be completely off with this.

Great question about why they're singing about drinking!! And great instinct that it's not really about getting trashed! The translation you had missed the wordplay in the lyrics. When they sing drink from their cup, they also say 예술 (yae-sool) is also 술 (sool) and you'll get drunk on it. Yae-sool is art and sool is wine/alcohol. So they're saying art is a kind of wine that intoxicates and inspires you. Whenever they reference drinking, they're saying take part in art. Gotta love their lyrics. Also, Namjoon explained that MOTS: Persona can be seen as a story of an artist who questions who he is (starting with Intro Persona) and tries to understand this by reaching out to others (Boy With Luv, Mikrokosmos, Make It Right, Home, Jamais Vu) and through that comes to realize that he's someone who brings art to people, Dionysus. I love how their albums always tell a story within itself and also as part of a chapter within the album series which itself is a book within their discography story. Yipes!

I would love to see that too. Even if you don't react to it, you should totally check out her Dionysus video at least, so you have a better idea of the symbolism behind it. Dionysus is important, since it's the hinge between this album and the next. This album is mostly bright and bubbly so people tend to overlook its thematic depth and complexity.

LOVE home!!!! The alcohol in dionysus is meant to represent art so when they say drink it up they mean the artistry. But um... yeah bts love their alcohol too hehe. It's definitely not just beer and wine. The trio jinjikook drink regularly and most definitely get drunk, they call themselves drinking buddies and are the ones who get together specifically to drink and get drunk. he others drink too, they haven't talked about it as much as the drinking trio so we don't know their habits as well as those three. All we know is that mr. Kim taehyung does not drink cause he doesn't like the taste (same with coffee, he finds it too bitter hehe). And ofc we know that hobi is such a lightweight, he does not handle alcohol well and gets drunk with a single glass.

Yes! Love that you are doing their discography. This is great because BTS has been referencing a lot of their past albums lately and actually either referencing their old songs at awards shows (like MMA 2019) or performing old songs (like MAMA 2019). When I heard Dionysus on the album the first time I was overwhelmed and wasn't sure I liked it or not. But when I saw them perform it.....this song was made to be a performance piece. The song goes crazy at the end because Dionysus is also the god of frenzied or ecstatic dance and is also known as "Eleutherios ("the liberator") his wine, music and ecstatic dance free his followers from self-conscious fear and care, and subvert the oppressive restraints of the powerful." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dionysus JHope was the main person who worked on this song. I feel that JHope uses a lot of different sounds like on his solo mixtape "Hope World", he was learning how to make his own album as he went so I think he experimented with a lot of different sounds and it was eclectic and vibey. RM always does a break down discussion of each song on a new album usually a few weeks after it's released. Here is a link to his vlive talking about the album in "Map of the Soul: Persona Behind" www.vlive.tv/video/125174?channelCode=FE619 if you guys are interested. I find the process fascinating for their album concepts, who comes up with the melodies, etc. He gives some great insights and info on the albums.

Ahh I'm happy that Home convinced you! :D And yes, you were right, that one part sounding like American radio was EXACTLY what you've said about the song back then! Glad that that part does not ruin the song for you ^^ Dionysus hits soo hard, it hypes me up so much it's not even funny 😂 Also, I think it is their most experimental song of all times yet. That of course might create divided opinions on the song, but I personally LOVE IT, it's my favorite song of the album because I've just never heard anything like it before and it gets me soo energized! Oh and others probably pointed this out, but some line distributions were wrong, it's actually Jin who does the high-pitched note towards the end AND the very low notes (well some of them, not the ones in the beginning - those are Tae) (although I can understand how people can mistake the others for Taehyung as well since we've never heard Jin singing so DEEP 😲) I don't really think they are singing about literally getting drunk, but as they say in some lines: they are so obsessed with their art that they get drunk on their art. Also Namjoon: "Are you ready for this?" Anitra, representing us all: "No." 😂

Dionysus is the god of wine but also chaotic revelry. It's not really about them being drunk per se (even though we have some GREAT drunk BTS moments out there) it's the feeling that doing your art or craft gives you that high. That's why when you listen or watch a Dionysus performance you feel tired or drained at the end because we all get swept up in chaotic feel of the song, just like how Dionysus' followers got caught up in the festivals and parties he threw. The bewitching cacophony drags you in and when it's over you're left feeling sated and tired.

Yesss!!! Mikrokosmos basically means a small universe, which they've mentioned it feels like that during their concerts when they look out and see a sea of army bombs all lit up. It looks like stars so this song is definitely for army. The live performances are so magical! It's an instant tearjerker for me. Home gives me such old school bts vibes with a twist and they're basically calling us their home which makes me big sad LOL How dare they make me cry constantly 😭 and then of course Jamais Vu had me bawling. Jin and Jungkook's voices blend so well together with Hobi. This subunit was such a shock. I'm hoping for MiniMoni or Taegi subunits next though ;D and of course the chaotic masterpiece, Dionysus! It's such a wild ride and I was in so much shock when listening to the album the first time like holy shit??? it's sooo different from anything else they've done and I LOVE IT!! I think the general theme is embodying Dionysus himself. He's the god of "ritual madness and wine" so the way the song builds up and up fits so well with that. Also love all the Greek imagery. I cannot WAIT for you to finally see the MMA 2019 performance now. That performance is just...wow 💜💜💜

A lot don’t say it, but I do think Dionysus is an ARMY song. The whole thing is a play on the fact that the Korean words for liquor and art are very similar (솔 and 미솔 I believe.) It’s the idea that art can get you as drunk as wine. Dionysus also wasn’t just the god of wine, but artistic madness. I think the song is comparing the energy of a stadium show to an Ancient Greek Dionysia (the wild parties followers of Dionysus would hold to worship their god where everyone loses their minds to drink, music, lust, indulgence, etc.) Basically, the energy of ARMY combined with BTS’ art creates a holy artistic madness that requires both artist and audience to create. Just a theory, though :)

Be careful, these Color Coded Lyrics have a lot of mistakes when it comes to who sings what. Personally, I no longer watch the color coded of this channel because there is too much error each time.

So, the scream in Dionysus is our Worldwide Handsome Jin ! I don't remember where he talks about it on the top of my head (but someone else will know better than me) but for sometimes after the release of the album he was called RockJin XD

Let me tell you- Mikrokosmos in the small galaxy of army bombs at the end of the concert- pure magic

The lyric videos you guys referred to, have lots of mistranslated parts and also the members were shown incorrectly most of the times. Specifically in Dionysus.

YAYYYY I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS 💜 I was really hoping you wouldn't click off the Dionysus performance before it was over, I was waiting for your reaction to Tae at the end 😝. Dionysus always gives me Michael Jackson Smooth Criminal vibes but with rap lol. Mikrokosmos was the ending song of their last tour and when I say EVERYONE cries because of it, literally everyone bawls. It's such a special song with a sweet message 💜😭 Can't wait for your reations to mama and especially melon!

In Jamais Vu. they were telling us this entire time. Their heart not beating the way it used to, their shadows growing larger, and not knowing who they are anymore. From this to shadow, to Black swan, and to Kookies Decalcomania. All of it connecting.

I loved your reaction to Jamais Vu, it is my 2nd favorite song on the album, after Home~which I absolutely love (& it is a song for ARMY btw), and they just did a live performance of it (Home I mean)which you both would love as well. Fyi, RM always does a VLive after every album release and for this one, he spoke about Jamais Vu and how they were all jealous of JHope, Jin and Jk because they all wanted to do that song. I feel it's so underrated, it's just beautiful. And about Mikrokosmos....you need to watch them do it live, the atmosphere is like a galaxy~so pretty and this song was picked as Tae and Jk's favorite on the album mostly due to the lyrics. Dionysus is ofc the hype song and was JHope's project in case you didn't know~just as Mic Drop was~~and yes that deep voice and the high voice right after are both JIN--the lyric video you watched was wrong in several places haha. Home is my favorite (I love the part that you don't), your boyfriend has good taste lol....it has more of the hip hop vibe that many of BTS earlier songs have....so he might like more of those once you listen~unless you already have and i missed it =))

Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. I love Mikrokosmos. Such an ethereal song. Love the feels. I like Home too. Jimin's voice is great. It's a well balanced song to me. Love Jamais Vu. This unit song is great. Love songs with feels! I was not aware it's opposite of Deja Vu. But I have heard the word before. Love Dionysus its such a hype song. Bop for sure. And it's Jin's voice. He can go real low and real high. I am impressed. He has been attacking me consistently for 6 months now. The song is about them feeling drunk on their art. hugs. Stay safe!-baby ARMY NY USA 💜

That high note in dionysus was Jin They told him to scream he said in the Vlive 🤣 he was shocked but did it right away

The deep voice that you thought was Taehyung in Dionysus was actually done by Jin. Jin was also the one that did most of the high notes too in Dionysus....#BTS ❤️❤️..

Home gives me very R&B vibes which is why I love it sooo much. Honestly it’s in my top 3 BTS songs but I enjoy this kind of sound. It’s very sensual almost.

I think for me other that intro: persona and Dionysus all the songs are generally more “softer” sounding songs and despite being different genres they go really well together on an album. Persona didn’t surprise me either because it’s like that old school hip hop feel that I know back in the day BTS was heavily influenced by. Dionysus to me is what really came outta left field because I never would have thought they would have done an extremely rock influenced song and compared to the vibe of the rest of the album it’s kinda a stand alone thing to me but I have to be honest it’s probably my second favorite song on the album just because it is more of a rock song and other than listening to kpop groups the people I listen to are rock artists and bands. Overall I really loved this album and can’t wait to see your reaction to the rest of their music

I find it touching when Joon and Yoongi said "7 billion stars/world/people" cuz the world's population is 7 billion people but also it's "7" and BTS is 7 so I like to take it as each one holds billion of us 🥺💜

dionysus is like getting drunk on art, or getting drunk off art. diving right into it like shots
