The "Born skinny bitch" line never gets old for me LOL. Many Blinks believe that it's calling out the haters who have skinny shamed Lisa over the years and I honestly believe it, because that felt pretty personal right there! The line after about how she's "Slow at calculation, but fast at sense" (from proper translations?) a lot believe is referring to Lisa's ex-manager who betrayed her trust and friendship by scamming her out of a lot (don't remember how much but it was a lot) of money. The whole album came to slay! It's a snap back at haters and also a vulnerable moment for the girls at the end with "You Never Know" when they basically plea for some people to try and understand. To put themselves in their shoes and understand that words can hurt someone.

Fun fact: Pretty savage was the first song in which Jisoo said blackpink in your area… we always had jennie rosé and lisa say it multiple times but this was the first time jisoo said it and blinks freaked out haha

I'm pretty sure for Bet You Wanna the original line from Cardi was supposed to be "I bet if you make me sweat I will keep you wet", but Cardi had to change it to fire because wet was considered too explicit for the song.

Apparently for most of the Blinks "Bet you wanna" sounded empty and less spicy than the other songs, for me its a fun song to jam with esp with Rosé showing off her higher note in the background vocal.. Rosé just the IT for me tho😊

I get the part where you want to read the english transition first. This song "Pretty Savage" does not have a MV, you should find the Live stage or Show performance. even the dance practice would be better than the lyrics version in my opinion. but so glad you are getting to The Album before the comeback hits in 3 days. and when it comes to Bet You Wanna, dont take this the wrong way. I am not hating, but this is what I think, it never got a MV, it is rarely covered in concerts, and I think it did not get the reactions needed to keep promoting this song (only 60M views). It is a hit or miss with all Blinks, Maybe it is because it is all english that the Korean fans did not get behind it, while the American speaking fans were 50/50. While Cardi B rap was clean, I keep wanting more. I am right in the middle myself, I will not play it on my play list, but I do not hate it. If I hear it, I will sing every word note for note. it is one of those songs for me.

You've heard of Kill This Love, Ddu-du-Ddu-du, and Ice Cream more than Bet You Wanna because the first 2 are title tracks and IC is a single. Usually, they will be promoted more than the rest of the songs, esp compared with BYW which is from a full album. Plus 90% of blinks hated this song so they didn't really spread it around or request it from reactors 🤣

Interesting. I think most Blackpink songs are pretty westernized sounding not to mention they incorporate a lot more English in their songs. Hence part of the reason why their music is more popular internationally than a lot of other kpop girl groups. I mean no hate to other groups but if you played me a random kpop girl group song I probably wouldn't be able to tell you what group it came from unless it was Blackpink, their music is just very easy to identify. And while I do like their music I hope they switch it up some on their new album and do something completely unexpected and out of the comfort zone.
