Hayley Paige was very young when she signed the contract. She was of legal age, but was so excited to be offered a contract, she signed the contact without hiring her own attorney to read the contract. Basically she signed all her rights away including the use of her own name.

I hate when parents tell their kids they just can’t get over their choice of dress. Now I’d understand if the mom was paying for it herself or was helping. But if you’re not helping with the cost of any of it then it doesn’t matter what you want. What should matter is if your child is happy. I hate seeing that up here.

@@s.susanmarandi9080 Nah I really don’t lol. Mom’s being rude because her daughter doesn’t want her wedding to be the way she wants it. She brought her mom because it meant something to her for mom to be there. Doesn’t mean mom and the other people have to be nasty about her choices.

There was no rudeness and absolutely respect between both mother and daughter. If the daughter had insisted on black I got the sense the mother would have gone along with it even with reservations. It's natural to have barriers and biases towards black if you've grown up associating it with death and funeral and since the mother is going along with the whole wedding theme without tension she clearly cares about her daughters individuality. When it came to the black dress the mother responded tactfully and with care as to how her daughter was feeling and the general body language all around was fun. If you see a longer version you'll see the bride wasn't into the black dress as a wedding gown either, she didn't get talked out of it like some others. She tried on another pink dress not shown in the middle of the black and her final choice. About that dress she said it was too much fairy not enough forest. There's plenty on this show where mothers ARE rude, overbearing and disregarding of their daughters but this was not one of those instances. Tbh the style of the black dress seemed a bit off for the theme, rather than just the colour.

For my first marriage, that ended in divorce, I almost bought a similar (but not the same) second hand Hayley Paige gown in a different hue from online. I backed out because I thought alterations with such an intricate gown would be a hassle to deal with. I think it’s sad she lost the legal use of her own name. As she had some truly unique, whimsical and cute wedding gown designs.

That black dress is GORGEOUS OMG! I personally want a wedding dress that can double as a special occasion dress down the road because I'm broke af so if I'm going to save $1000 to $5000 for a wedding dress I want it to be able to be used more than once and not just once and never touched again. Which means, it can't be fully white, or look like a traditional wedding dress. But definitely gorgeous and like a princess. Personally, I want something that's like flowy with long flowy sleeves like in those princessy Irish type of medieval films.

I have seen people with white wedding dresses made out of primarily one or two fabrics dye them to make them less bridal and more rewearable, so that also seems to be an option if you do decide on a white dress. You would just have to do your research and proper swatch testing first.

I never understand why people who want this sort of specifically 'weird' dress go to a bridal shop instead of just getting one made for them. Surely it's the easiest way to get exactly what you want? I mean luckily this bride found a gorgeous dress that ticked all the boxes but I'm not sure how often that happens. If she'd been stuck on having something more gothic for instance I think she'd have gone home empty handed.
