I prefer the long dress and I hope her God-Sister will be happy in a short dress. TBH it would be very hard for me to feel good in any dress with a former beauty queen as my fellow bridesmaids. I think there was scope for a combination of the long and short dresses because they will all suit the colour. Lovely group of people all working together to make the bride happy.

I think the beautiful thing about this episode is that there was drama. Will the friend feel good in a dress? Can the friend love herself? This was a great episode wedding dresses run very small my moms tiny petite friend who’s a 2 or 0 had to order a 6 so the bride is probably a 6 which is one size larger than most 5’7-5’10 models. Then there me who’s 5’0 and a size four and all dresses have over a foot of extra material vertically speaking 😭

Usually if your fit, muscular, you do fit into a bigger size and it's just because of muscle. My cousin ordered a 2 and ended up having to have it tailored to a 0, she's thin but not muscular. It's the same reason why DCC cheerleaders actually usually between a 4-6 and not the expected 0-2, they're muscular.

Awe, I want to give Rita a hug. I haven't been through what she has, but I, just as almost every female has, knows what it's like to be insecure/self conscious about their body. When I was younger my parents took my makeup away from me as a punishment and I broke down in tears because I felt un-pretty without it. Now everyday I walk proudly without makeup. I hope she finds her self worth. 😊

I like how I look.” You don’t have to believe it yet, but do it anyway, and see if there’s any change in your self-perception by the time the wedding rolls around. Carolyn McMath the sizes for bridal gowns are not based on store sizes. There is no universal size chart like it is for men’s clothing. It is the type of measurements that seamstresses use. Depending on the style of gown you can be upwards to five sizes larger than what you normally wear. My regular size clothing is a 10 and my bridal dress is a size 16. The last thing you should ever be hung up on is the number! And if it really bothers you, cut that tag out!

I hope you reach you goal, but please don´t starve yourself :) Believe me, I know from experience that it takes time to adjust to a new body, after loosing weight, but after a time, no matter if that is months or years, you realize you aren´t "fat" anymore, please don´t starve youself because you "don´t feel" your new body, it takes time to adjust. Go shopping and try clothes, you wouldn´t try normally, than you realize, that your body changed etc. and ask friends who you trust what they think. Not people who think you are fishing for compliments are that are annoyed by that question, just people you know who are honest and not jeleous of your weight loss are just insecure in general.

I was nervous going in knowing this was a wedding for Miss America, and it only got worse when I found out about the detailed manual. However, this lady has a heart of gold, as does the entire wedding party. The support they gave one another was touching. I hope the bridesmaid this show focused the most on in this clip gains a sense of accomplishment and respect for herself, because she is a gem, regardless of weight. She probably weighs less than I do right now. I am doing more for self-care, and will be even more active when it gets warmer outside. In the meanwhile, most of my favorite clothes have an elastic waistband, so I can wear them regardless of my size. I hope everything will go/did go wonderfully at the wedding and beyond.

Ow. This one got me. That woman is me, in every clothing shopping trip I've ever been on. She looks gorgeous and they're right she SHOULD be patting herself on the back. 140 down? Amazing and hard work to accomplish. I'm so glad to see all the bridesmaids and bride supporting her (and even giving her looks of "wtf" when she downed herself). That Miss America's a genuine person, purposely trying to pick a dress to push her friend into seeing how gorgeous she is, even if it's out of her comfort zone. That kind of body dysphoria doesn't just go away easily, especially not after a life-time of conditioned dysmorphic perception. That bridesmaid hit home for me. I've spent a lot of time, making sure everyone around me feels good, and knows they're beautiful. But I've never believed it to be true for me. I've been a big girl my entire life, and after junior high, by confidence just got worse, because I was bullied so bad, and made fun of for my weight. No one really saw me for anything else but that, and, although I have amazing friends now, that do see me for who I am, it's extremely difficult to believe. People don't realise, just how much their words can affect someone. I'm 21 now, and still struggle with the comments made to me when I was a preteen/teen. You never forget it. You can call a woman beautiful a million times, and she'll never believe you. But call her ugly once, and she'll believe she is, for the rest of her life.

This was such a beautiful episode. The former Miss American was so supportive of her friend that lost 140 pounds and is struggling with body image issues. Even the rest of her party showed her so much empathy and were so supportive of the bride. Unfortunately the second half who had a lovely down to earth bride was afflicted with her MOH who happened to be her 17 year old sister who thought she was THE fashionista. Her mom was there and while they didn't show it I think mom must have had a word with her. All I can say is that she better watch this one real close because she thinks she is more knowledgeable/sophisticated than she actually is and can't wait to experience life and all it has to offer. She has a beautiful figure and is a pretty girl. There is definitely a lot of rivalry between the sisters.

This video is so beautiful. It is rare to see a group of girls come from different places and roles in the life of the bride and support each other so well. Girls, you are all stunning. Bride, YOU ARE GORGEOUS. And Rita, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. You should be celebrating your weight loss. Believe us, you look so pretty and the chosen dress will flatter you so nicely.
