Sayyid Hashim Al-Haidari: We don't belong to Husayn through tears alone

We always say Labbayk Ya Hussain
And we always say we are Hussaini
The Arbaeen ceremonies bare witness to 18-20 million walking, with those cooking etc
Today, Hussain is not the same as the Hussain of Arbaeen
Today, Hussain is not in Karbala
Today, Hussain is on the frontline
Dear brothers, we don’t always belong to Hussain through tears alone
We don’t always belong to Hussain through beating chests alone
We don’t always belong to Hussain through crying alone
We don’t always belong to Hussain through walking and lamentation alone
Today, we belong to Hussain through tears and blood
Today, we belong to Hussain through the chain and the weapon
This is Hussain
Hussain did not rise seeking this material world or as an oppressor or corruptor
Rather he rose up to call for reform
For this reason, Imam Hussain said, and I call this declaration number one in the revolution of Imam Hussain
When he was asked to pay allegiance
O Aba Abdillah pay allegiance to Yazid
What did the Imam say?
Yazid is a man who is corrupt and openly an evil-doer
And someone like me does not give allegiance to someone like him
He did not say ‘I do not pay allegiance to Yazid’, rather he said ‘someone like me’
And what do we call ourselves? Hussaini
Today, ISIS and who is behind them are the Yazid of our time
Do we pay them allegiance?
Do we remain silent?
Mosul is in front of us, they are our brothers
And ISIS is knocking on doors asking for their girls
And believe me if it wasn’t for men, and you are of those men
Then ISIS would be knocking on the doors of homes in Kadhimiyya, Shu’la, Madinat Al-Sadr, Karbala and Najaf
Asking do you have girls or not?
That is why Hussain today belongs to the arena of Karbala and not just a city called Karbala
Today, Hussain is not in a shrine but rather in the arena of resistance and blood
