Look at the comment section, Its sickening and mind boggling to see that on this issue of music, most muslims will say anything to justify music, because of some stupid whims, desire and addiction. Risking hellfire all together just to prove to himself that somehow its halal even when the evidence is presented. Wallahi sickminded people. I am being honest, yes, I myself listen to music from time to time, but I cant deny it absolutely haram. It diminshes my imaan, and takes away the sweetness of quran out of my heart, even if the lyrics are good. Dont fool yourself, there is nothing good in music. At least admit its haram, instead of evoking the wrath of Allah and risking hellfire for making haram in halal.

This worked for me so well. Inshallah for you too :)). May Allah help you for speaking the haqq. ( Btw you won't leave music in first moment, you'll slowly slowly leave inshallah).

Anyone who thinks music is halal, i challenge you. Stop listening for one week. If you hear your favorites in your head still. If it still pulls you toward it then reflect why. If you can listen to quran for the same amount of time as you listen to music. Then reflect why its haram.

My conclusion from this is that music is still not haram, but many forms of it are - arguably the most popular forms. Music has the power to psychologically help people with dementia, it has the power to convey great messages to people and empower them. Music has many benefits. You can say “well Quran could do all those things and do so better”. This maybe so, but that shouldn’t make this meaningful music i just described, haram. What is haram is VAIN talk. What is haram is IDOLIZATION of anything other than God I.e. fans idolizing Taylor Swift. But this doesn’t make the concept of music itself haram. And the fact that there is a strong debate on this is proof. The Quran is clear on what it forbids us.

Narrated Abu 'Amir or Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari: that he heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful. And there will be some people who will stay near the side of a mountain and in the evening their shepherd will come to them with their sheep and ask them for something, but they will say to him, 'Return to us tomorrow.' Allah will destroy them during the night and will let the mountain fall on them, and He will transform the rest of them into monkeys and pigs and they will remain so till the Day of Resurrection."

@@jasonthemuslim652it depends if you take it in the context of the entire teachings of Islam and Quran, or out of context. He was referring to specific culture. What about these hadith. Bukhari 949 Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) (p.b.u.h) came to my house while two girls were singing beside me the songs of Buath (a story about the war between the two tribes of the Ansar, the Khazraj and the Aus, before Islam). The Prophet (p.b.u.h) lay down and turned his face to the other side. Then Abu Bakr came and spoke to me harshly saying, "Musical instruments of Satan near the Prophet (p.b.u.h) ?" Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) (p.b.u.h) turned his face towards him and said, "Leave them." When Abu Bakr became inattentive, I signaled to those girls to go out and they left. It was the day of `Id, and the Black people were playing with shields and spears; so either I requested the Prophet (p.b.u.h) or he asked me whether I would like to see the display. I replied in the affirmative. Then the Prophet (p.b.u.h) made me stand behind him and my cheek was touching his cheek and he was saying, "Carry on! O Bani Arfida," till I got tired. The Prophet (p.b.u.h) asked me, "Are you satisfied (Is that sufficient for you)?" I replied in the affirmative and he told me to leave. Bukhari 952 Abu Bakr came to my house while two small Ansari girls were singing beside me the stories of the Ansar concerning the Day of Buath. And they were not singers. Abu Bakr said protestingly, "Musical instruments of Satan in the house of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) !" It happened on the `Id day and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "O Abu Bakr! There is an `Id for every nation and this is our `Id."

But how can something haram EVER be good? Is this the case with anything else in Islam? One could say if you drink anti-freeze, the cure is to immediately drink ethanol I.e. alcohol. But alcohol is explicitly mentioned in the Quran as with benefits, but the problems outweigh the benefits, so avoid because humans are weak minded and will be slaves to it. As it evident with society. But for music no such distinction is made whereby it is forbidden. Rather, the context of it’s use alongside haram activities is. Eg. Go to a night club; people drink, fornicate etc - and do so to certain kinds of music. Bob Dylan writing songs about liberation of slaves and the poor etc, inspiring generations to do better for their fellow human. There is a distinction here.

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious and Most Merciful And those who disbelieve are allies of one another, (and) if you (Muslims of the whole world collectively) do not do so [i.e. become allies, as one united block under one Khalifah (a chief Muslim ruler for the whole Muslim world) to make victorious Allah's religion of Islamic Monotheism], there will be Fitnah (wars, battles, polytheism) and oppression on the earth, and a great mischief and corruption (appearance of polytheism). 8: 73 Why are we Muslims not talking about reestablishing the power and control Allah SWT give us from the beginning? The command is to unite under one Khalifah. The number one concern on the minds of the Muslims is the tragedy in Gazza. The destruction in Gazza is worse than that of Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined. The Zionist Israelis are the modern day Amelak as they were a tribe from nation of the Israelites and their brutality in Gazza and West Bank is the evidence. We have to listen to what Allah SWT is saying to us in the above verse and from the beginning. "And Remember when your Lord said to the Angels, I am going place Khalifah on earth".... 2: 30 You see the UN which controlled by USA, is dead body in the muddy water as every resolution passed by majority, is vetoed by USA. Which means we have to create a balance of power in the world by creating United League of Muslim Nations. Which is to reestablish the Caliphate because we are children of Adam, peace be upon him . "United League of Muslim Nations" under one Khalifah will be a strictly defensive Force with a quick response to any threat to the Ummah of Islam. And it is easy to do it. It will be the Council of Muftis, from which they will choose the Khalifah. Under the Khalifah will be a seat for a Mufti from every country in world with 100,000 plus Muslim population as Islam is for entire World. From every municipality we will choose a representative till we have the Council of Muftis for that country with a Grand Mufti of that country to sit in the Council of Muftis under the Khalifah. All communication can be done remotely with everyone working from home. Most effective and real democratic way of governing where all decisions are made by the Council of Muftis but the Khalifah having the final say. Under the Khalifah, the "ULMN" will have its own army, navy and Air Force under one commander for defending the entire ummah. We already have the hardware from major Muslim countries. They just have to be relabeled "ULMN" when they out to defend any part of the Ummah like removing the Mediterranean Sea blockade by Israelis. The four letters "ULMN" will be enough to deter anyone from doing what is happening in Gazza today. But we have to be the Nation of Al Muttaqun for Allah SWT is saying now: "You are the Best of People ever raised up for Mankind, enjoying what is Good, forbidding what is evil and believing in Allah SWT" .... Quran 3: 110 Then how can we go wrong when the fear of "ULMN" will overwhelm the hearts of our enemies? That is what Islam is and we are Muslims to resolve every matter in a Peaceful manner, Insha Allah. Alhamdu Lillah. If no one is willing to act as the acting Khalifah, I will be the acting Khalifah till one is chosen and sincerely invite all Muslims to join me in this effort, for if we fail but we will never fail, we will still get one Hashanah for our intentions, Insha Allah Jazak Allah Khair Your brother Abu Saad Acting Khalifah (as Son of Adam, AS)

Sahih al-Bukhari 5590 Narrated Abu 'Amir or Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari: that he heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful.

The Jewish people own their story. Various empires confirm the Jewish story. This story continued through Europe, North Africa, Ethiopia, Iraq, Iran until they returned to their ancestral homeland. Jews were forced out of Judea which was renamed Palestine. The world persecuted and killed them but they returned home. Islam copied the Jewish story, Jewish prophets and kings and claim their version is the truth. How can that be? What is the proof that the Quran came from God directly. What is the imperical and archeological proof of the existence of Mohammed. Why was a mosque built on a Jewish Temple during the Muslim ottoman rule? The Jewish story was copied and altered to create Islam.

Just like a knife music can be used for either harram or hallal. I think that studying music actually proves Islam as the true religion if anything. If music is harram why was a prominent Islamic scholar like Ibn Rushd also a phenomenal musician. The Muslims invented the rabbabah, uud and qanun and also the arabic scale. Music was stolen from us just like the rest of our Islamic knowledge. I believe they stole from us and then planted imams to make music harram meanwhile Islam has little to no people experienced with multimedia. All we have is hufadh and doctors

I appreciate it, My advice to you however is not to take or make advice or quote your advice from hadeeth unless you know the context. Fiqh is not taken directly from a hadeeth , it's taken from the Fuquha. You must at least understand the fiqh before. Ibn Rushd is from the Fuquha, he most definitely has a better understanding of fiqh than you or myself? You are quoting a hadeeth which speaks about the end of times. We are still a long ways from that time. I don't think you actually understand the context of that hadeeth as we are not at the end of times?! Silk is allowed in Islam to be worn by women according to the Fuquha like Al Tirmithi and Imam Ahmad ibn Hambal... No Hadeeth or verses in the Qur'an specifically states that all music is completely harram or specifically the types of instruments. There is no clear haddeeth or evidence bottom line. Why did the prophet Muhammad peace and blessings upon him cover his ears and not ask ibn Umar to cover his ears as he passed by someone playing a wind like instrument? Why would he ask ibn Umar to tell him the messenger to uncover his ears when ibn Umar heard that the sound had passed. the Fuquha who explained the fiqh of this hadeeth also posed the question that if it was harram why didn't the prophet ask ibn Umar to cover his ears also. Why would the prophet Muhammad throw ibn Umar under the bus allowing ibn Umar to sin to save himself?? Our religion is not a deceitful one and neither is the beloved messenger. If it was harram he would also ask ibn Umar to cover his ears. We educated the West. They stole from us and made us like we are in the dark ages. Do you actually understand what historical innovations the Muslims have made by studying sounds and chambers? Why would Islamic scholars and scientists call down wells or make adhan inside caves to study amplification which they then engineered domes and chambers in the mosques to amplify the Friday ceremonies and recitation of the Qur'an. You are not realising it but they had knowledge that took Europe out of the dark ages. You should research how Islamic scholars and scientists experimented with sound. If it was all for nothing. Your problem is that your understanding of music is western music or is that of westernised influence or nature. I can totally agree that most of western music is harram as the subliminal messages or vibrations they put out are bad or harmful.I would have to say that most music from Hollywood is harram or used to corrupt. But again that is not our culture or music and historically we are not like them.Music and sound shouldn't take you away from the remembrance of Allah SWT. Funny enough our religion is mostly spread by "sound" and oral traditions. Most people don't understand that a bird or singing is classified as a musical instrument and the human voice is classified as an instrument. Where did the prophet Muhammad say that singing is harram? You can sing to call people to Allah or you can sing to push them away from him. You can sing to tell people to be good or sing to tell them to be bad. Bottom line Music can be harram or not depending on the individual and what purpose it's used for. I am not saying that all music is hallal but saying all music is harram is a bit farfetched.

@@samasimOFsh I got your point but I don't think you understood it does not take an Alim to get what The prophet Muhammad salalahu alayhi wasalam made music haram because that hadith that i quoted why would Rasulallah Categroize haram things with music he also said they will consider them to be lawfull so in a sense you can easily pick out its haram. And not all music is Haram except the Duff anything other than that is clearly haram. There is proof from the quran and it is idle talk, you may argue that idle talk is to vague but Rasulallah gave us a description The clerk of Al-Mughira bin Shu`ba narrated, "Muawiya wrote to Al-Mughira bin Shu`ba: Write to me something which you have heard from the Prophet (p.b.u.h) ." So Al-Mughira wrote: I heard the Prophet saying, "Allah has hated for you three things: -1. Vain talks, (useless talk) that you talk too much or about others. -2. Wasting of wealth (by extravagance) -3. And asking too many questions (in disputed religious matters) or asking others for something (except in great need). Sahih al-Bukhari 1477 Theres no way that singing to music is not useless talk theres proof from more hadith that Musical instruments are haram The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The bell is one of the musical instruments of Satan. Riyad as-Salihin 1691 From this hadith the bell it's not the only tool that shaytaan uses Theres a common argument with muslims that say don't listen to western music about drugs and all sorts of profanity but instead listen to songs and music about the sunshine and rivers " it talks of Allahs creation" this is none other than shaytaans tricks to mislead them as it says in surah nisa And most certainly I will lead them astray and excite in them vain desires, and bid them so that they shall slit the ears of the cattle, and most certainly I will bid them so that they shall alter Allah's creation; and whoever takes the Shaitan for a guardian rather than Allah he indeed shall suffer a manifest. And even and even if you don't know whether it's haram or halal its better to leave doubtful matters this is something called Wara3 means high level of taqwa and leaving matters which are doubtful this is something the salaf would do.

just think that (let's hope absolutely not) we could be among the people of hell, so there is little to listen to music.. let's think about preparing answers to Allâh Glory be to Him the Most High. Then if you are one who listens to music, after doing so, note if your faith has increased (I don't think so) so this is another proof that it is Haraam.. finally (and this is better than said above) there are authentic Ahadith like Sahih Al-Bukhari, 7/5590 as clear as the sun regarding this topic. and Ibn Mas'ud (Faqiih by the way) swore to Allâh that the Ayah 31 6 وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يَشْتَرِي لَهْوَ الْحَدِيثِ لِيُضِلَّ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ And of mankind is he who purchases Lahu Al-Hadith to mislead (men) from the path of Allâh, it refers to singing. who are we near all this to say otherwise... let us be sincere and the truth will appear.. Allâh knows what is in the hearts.

Usage of musical instruments are haram indeed in singing and hence when we talk about today's music, it is known by necessity that its all BS. Incites hypocrisy. There is enough evidence from Quran and authentic Ahadith, the Athar, and concensus of Scholars of the past. Those who try to justify are ignorant heads and know nothing how a ruling is derived from Quran and Sunnaah and the interpretation of the pious predecessors who followed them. Those who want to listen will keep listening to it even if angels meet him and tell him clearly as this fellow is misguided and chosen to be misguided due to the covering of sins around his heart. How can a mere innocent lecture of half an hour will penetrate his heart and make any impact? This guy needs surgery

These guys cannot distinguish between using a vehicle for going to work or for murder declaring the vehicle Haram. The word Haram also cannot be used indiscriminately. Specific types of music is clearly haram. Other types of music can inspire thought and creativity but this is a difficult balancing act. Look up the scholars opinions of music of their time. Al-Ghazali and Ibn Rushd among them. Gangster Rap and New Genres are clearly haram because they contain haram themes. I would argue Classical Arabic music and African music and instrumentals are not haram. During the Islamic Golden Age music was very popular.

This is a fair point. There is ikhtilaaf hence the ongoing debate. I like and listen to certain bands but not all the time. But I'm not going to try to justify it from an Islamic perspective. Where something is described as haram it's clearly forbidden like alcohol, fornication and usury. I don't feel music falls into this category but Allah swt knows best and I believe it's the sunnah to avoid things we're unsure about. Now I should take my advice. May Allah swt forgive me.
