They are a alien species so who knows how it's pronounced. But seeing the Hissho are based on samurai it might be pronounced like the Japanese word "敬意" or "respect" which would be pronounced like "Kei-ee" (or just pronounce it like the letters K-E)

Not to mention that the sophons were thinking they could fight me and lost their capital system to me in a war that lasted a turn pretty much. Standard Endless AI.
@theral0566 жыл бұрын
But in the end you still win because the AI just can't wage war properly. It's the only reason even endless difficulty is trivial: the AI fails in making strong fleets and attacking in a coherent fashion. Still love the game, but the AI is very underwhelming, much like civ6. And it all boils down to fleet usage. Fix that and they'd be competent, even a threat...

SB look at behemoth ship design(double click on right bottom menu when behemoth selected). There is all stats there. you will see that leave your behemoth on starting planet wasn't a bad idea. Also if you would mine that planet with titanium from tern 1, you would be able to use "way of the Obsidian Eagle" very early. Which is powerful.
@Quellan006 жыл бұрын
Can you refit the behemoth to get more probes?
@Trifler5006 жыл бұрын
+ Quellan00 Yes, but not until you research the ability to build Behemoths. Once you do that, you can edit the template, then update the ship.

Just FYI, I discovered the mining probe can mine strategic and luxury resources, which is far more valuable than mining the tiny percentage of FIDS.

@Fielmur6 жыл бұрын
I totally agree, they're brilliant artists, and that's why I think they could try quest and diplomatic mechanics a bit more ambitious for their next game, like interactive cinematics with actual voice acting. I think it would reinforce the lore and encourage the average player to actually bother caring about the awesome work they put behind the art.
@theral0566 жыл бұрын
Fielmur I'd rather they invest more heavily in making the AI better. Their art is overly well done, their games being some of the sleekest on the market. If they can improve the AI and make it properly challenging the game would feel more "complete" to me than with added cinematics but weak opponents.
@Fielmur6 жыл бұрын
theral I didn't comment on the AI because they claimed to have seriously reworked it. I would concur about the previous AI being somewhat disappointing... But imo, regarding the ai that's a staff issue, they need more scripters or better scripts. For the art they have everything they need in their hands to add an immersive taste to the key aspects of what gets you ultimately going on with the game (getting involved in the quest or having an engaging perspective of diplomatics. I mean, imagine having 60k voice acted lines in the game instead of 60. It may sound like a lot, but the work involved is not as hard as providing a sharp AI) But for sure, it always tastes better with a somewhat reasonable AI if not a challenging one, I won't argue against that.
@theral0566 жыл бұрын
Fielmur I'm all for more art, voicelines in particular. It always irks me in diplomacy when they say something different than they write. I hope the next iteration will continue to gradually improve in the art department (keep quality, increase quantity) but more importantly will dramatically improve the AI (without resorting to blatant cheats). I personally did not notice any improvement post patch, the AI still can't wage war and use fleets properly. Not sure if they can siege, never really saw them try (except for pirate bases they siege for what feels like 40 turns). Anyway the game is still great and been a good successor to endless space. If the next one improves similarly it'll be nigh on perfect ;)
@scottcoder50604 жыл бұрын
To make all of these things happen people need to buy their games. Unfortunately I think Amplitude is a highly undervalued studio. I hope more people get into their games and they're a massive success. They deserve it

I'm not sure how to ask this but isn't the starting engine on your ships different from the one you can put on them? The icon for the ones on the ships is different from the one you can chose in the menu. Is there any reason why you don't swap the engine, when you upgrade the ships? Also new Endless Space AND Endless Legend videos Yay :-D. Thank you, I have watched many hours of your game play :-)
@Trifler5006 жыл бұрын
The ships start with the base engine, but since the Hissho start with a science tech, it unlocks the next engine. So yeah, it's a good idea to upgrade the engines on the templates and the hero ship right off the bat.

I can tell that you don't really like war in these games, why is that? especially when your playing as an extremely war driven faction. Almost feels like your shooting yourself in the foot by doing that. I don't have much experience with 4X games so I don't know if this is just a preference of yours or is going to war typically a bad move to make. I could understand your adverseness if you were playing a different faction, but Hissho are all about fighting and receive big bonuses for doing that.
@theral0566 жыл бұрын
franchised1 going to war kills the AI and eliminates any semblance of challenge. If you're passive they can at least compete thanks to their FIDSI bonus.

@@theral056 So... Do I just let the AI build up and then attack them when they're like, big enough to be a threat? According to the users here, the AI sucks when it comes to waging. Asking because planning to buy this game...
@theral0566 жыл бұрын
@@Qulize It's really up to you what you find fun. The AI will not be able to compete with you strategically or tactically no matter what. It may have twice the ships when it's smaller and still fail to use them effectively to smash you. It can be fun don't get me wrong, but a bit in a TD kind of way where they come in piecemeal. The game is definitely worth a buy and while you're learning and making mistakes the AI is competent enough. When you're really good you may want to turn pirates off and ensure that there are many systems for the AI to colonize - slightly larger map than recommended amount of players - so the can grow and stand up to you. You'll have to find your own level of difficulty first though. If you never played ES2 immortal will probably still kill you ;)
