MaPa = Mama and Papa (Parents) | Mapa = Map (English) Our Map is our MaPa in this Life journey. | Both used and present on this song. This is a masterpiece written by Pablo in collaboration with the rest of SB19. This is a love letter to our parents. For some if not most, we barely tell our parents how we feel inside. This masterpiece will help us do another move to tell them how much we value and love them. In the song, “we will never get lost because we have the Mapa (Map)”. The map represent our parents. The things they taught us, the sacrifices, the advice they give and hardships. We will never get lost so long as we have the Map (Map). In the Filipino culture, we children have great regard to our parents / elderly. Most of us we would want to give back. Times wherein we just want our parents to stay still and its time for us (children) to do the rest. We want them to rest from the days and time they give and sacrifices for us. This song hits the hardest if we have those regrets if not being able to give back and let them rest from those tiring days they spent for us. Regrets prolly due to some unforeseen events. Event where they can no longer hear our “thank you” and gratefulness towards them. Regrets prolly because we don’t have the capability yet of returning the favor (though they never ask for it). Regrets prolly because we are far from them and this pandemic is hindering us of being with them or for any reason. Normally our parents (MaPa) would not share how hard life is, they would not tell us how tight things are. They would always keep inside them the struggles they are facing and normally they will always show their happy face for us not to worry. First part of the song, Justin talks about how our parents (MaPa) prioritize us in all aspects. In the Filipino culture, remember the day when you as a kid cries asking for a balloon and our parent would graciously get some coins and buy one for you. That moment we can only see the our happiness for getting what we simply want, but we cannot see their smile because we are happy with a simple thing. Josh’s part where he heed the memories and advise his (a) father gave him. That even though they are not together he promised of keeping them. Remember a milestone in our lives, our first step as a baby? Those gently hands guiding not just our ways but most making sure that if we fall, they are there willing to Catch and pick us up and encourage us to try again. For Single parents out there, you both the Ma and Pa. you alone is the Mapa. For those OFW parents (MaPa) doing the great sacrifices for their Kids, Salute! Those OFW Kids making every effort to provide and give back their MaPa’s, Salute. Watching this masterpiece brings me home every time. Let’s not wait for the time where we regret.. call them now and let them know how much we love and treasure them. Each one of us has a story to tell with regard to our MaPa and Mapa. I wanna hear em. The boat changed and soared high as a plane. It shows that the child already reached his dream. Then it goes back to being a boat to show that he's reminiscing the past. How his parents support him and made him the person he is now. Same goes the flowers it was planted and as time it grows and bloom. But soon it withers like our parents getting older. Lataratara sounds like La Tierra in Spanish meaning The Earth. Coincidentally the song is about a MAP (MAPA) I also interpret Lataratara as as Let's go. Because Tara is Go in Tagalog.

Josh - Never met his dad. Singing his part and creating a memory that does not exist. Became independent from her mom during his highschool days. Ken - Both parents are Overseas Filipino Workers. Grandparents stood as his father and mother figures. Her grandma recently died. He wants to give back but he felt that it was too late. Pablo - His dad is an OFW too. He helps the family now as one of the elder brother amongst his siblings. Stell- Experienced also to work abroad for his loving and caring family Justin - Sheltered bunso now making his parents and family proud of him.
