Wow 😱.... soooo impressed. I wish teachers would start with this type of intro to their classes. Instead all the guys start dancing in such a rush, no style just focused on spins and turns. Thank you for posting very informative ❤️

This is the first time I've ever seen an instructor, a guest artist, show a pattern and display how to dance it n different sections of the song. That's how I want to learn, that's how, if I ever get the chance to teach, how'd I do it. I'm in love with this style of instruction!

People in the comment seem pretty unreasonable. Rodrigo has great energy, it's easy to get caught in it and sing along. I had no issues with it, jam out bro

Hi foxfire1112, thanks for your comment. And I also thank you for your support & understanding. I think that some people are not accustomed with latinos getting emotional and singing together when they hear certain songs. But that's OK :) I hope we can 'jam out' together some time :)

Don't worry indeed. Apart from the fact that you also sang well, a bit of enthusiasm is acceptable no? :-)

Nice, but unfortunately they don't dance in socials as thay tell/teach here ... they do not use intro's and tema's as they teach here.
@SuperSalsa6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for replying Oguz :) Do I understand correctly that you've seen Rodrigo and Bersy dancing other than what they taught us here? I would like to know how many times you've seen them violate their own 'rules'. As for the 'practice what you preach' part: I consider what they're telling us in this video only as suggestions on how to interpret the questions the music poses, and how to answer these questions in a complementary manner. Suggestions, not rules. There are many factors besides the music which dictate how you dance at a certain time and place. For example: the crowd on the dance floor, your mood, your dance partner's mood, your intention (showing off to get more business deals or just social dancing?) and your physical condition. Just to name a few. As for the 'you-and-I-MUST-do-as-I-say' part: I'm quite 'allergic' to that. I'm currently developing a new partnering dance concept as an antidote to my allergy. I will be sharing it with you guys soon! :)

Yes, there's not many dancers, who do so, but you can always count on Terry Salsalianza and Oliver Pineda in that matter :)

ffs when they are talking you are not supposed to talk or make any sounds who ever you are.... plzzzzz they are there for a reason so they can teach you stop believing you know everything... and listen to them...

Hi g v, thank you for your constructive criticism. At the moment I started taping Rodrigo and Bersy, we were expecting them to do the dance routine they taught us. This musicality class came to all of us as a big surprise. I was so delighted that I just was enjoying the experience by being my (loud) self. I originally intended to tape this workshop for my own enjoyment and tutelage. But after I re-watched the video I figured this information to be too valuable to keep it by myself. I truly am sorry for any discomfort. I don't believe I know everything, and I'm always willing to learn. So, thank you for your valuable lesson. :) I hope you find another version that's more up to your standards.

@@SuperSalsa maybe I was a little bit harsh on you :P lol ... since it was intended for personal use and then you saw that the quality was good enough to upload it ok. My bad... I understand your excitement, I would be excited too but I would participate less and hearing more.
@SuperSalsa5 жыл бұрын
@@unknownknown360 No need to apologize g v :) I understand why you think this way. I was 'listening less' because I've been dancing afro latin dances for 35 years and teaching for 21 years to date. I'm crazy about the afro latin dance history. Here in Holland people have dubbed me the 'salsa dance encyclopedia'. But most of them are not interested at all in the real roots of their favourite dance styles. I have a 3 hours Interactive dance presentation of the Salsa Dance History, which I sold only 2 times (in 2007 and in 2008). So, for me, it was refreshing to hear and see salsa superstars and idols such as Rodrigo and Bersy talk about the topics I love and sing our favourite songs together. It's a latino thing :) And that excitement is genuine. But I found the information so good that I wanted to share it while fully knowing that I would be criticized for my behaviour. Well, I find it to be a good thing all humans are unique and different in their behaviours, don't you think? Anyway, I sincerely hope to be of better service to you in the near future :) And please keep on giving me your awesome feedback. Kind regards from the Netherlands :)

Thanks to all new subscribers and to everyone who enjoyed watching the video. Originally it was not my intention to share it, mostly because of my bad singing. But I thought some people would like to have the information anyway. I also wrote an article on the extraordinary weekend we had at the Holland Salsa Bachata Beach Festival 2018 www.supersalsa.nl/2018/05/25/sbbf-2108-a-life-changing-dance-experience/ . Click on the words in bold letters. They are links to pictures and other media. Next stop: Bonaire International Dance Festival 2018, from August 31st 'till September 1, 2018! Do they pay this guy to record or sing? Because he’s not doing either well.
@SuperSalsa6 жыл бұрын
Hi ndark19. First I want to thank you very much for your comment :) The organisers of the Dutch Salsa Bachata Beach Festival - Eric Lalta and Liduina Aruma Handi Lovert - didn't pay me to record this wonderful lecture. Rodrigo and I weren't paid to sing either. What you see here is pure expression of love and devotion to salsa. Without shame, self or being judgemental. And I thought that many will benefit from the information these two superstars shared with us. I hope you do too. As for the quality of my singing: 'Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder'. Karaoke wouldn't exist if everyone sung like nightingales, would it? And frankly, I like the way Rodrigo sings. And I like my own singing too, even whilst knowing the rest of the world does not. But hey, maybe you would care to give me some pointers on how to sing more to your own liking? Because not singing is not an option. And because of you, I now feel highly inspired to sing some more and post it here in KZbin. The world will thank you for that ;) I thank you in advance for your sound (pun intended) advice, and keep them coming ndark19! A big hug from the Netherlands :)

@@SuperSalsa Thank you for posting such an informative dance lesson. Rodrigo is a great instructor, and I was lucky enough to have him teach us. As for the singing, his is pretty good, and well, as with dancing or learning anything to improve yours lessons may be best. My parents take them and now they perform. Perhaps you may some day too. Gracias =)

@@shiroitake Thank you very much for your kind reply O S :) And thank you for your wishes. I have been performing since the age of 14 (1985) in merengue showteams on the island of Curacao. Then in 1995 I was a member of one of the first semi professional afro latin showteams of the Netherlands: Euro Latino's. In 2001 I was a member of Salsa Dance Squad. Salsa kept evolving. It got more complicated and - frankly - I'm a little bit lazy. So I plateaud. I've been teaching salsa now for 21 years. The last time I performed was in 2017 when I became the Dutch Salsa Champion of 2017 in the category 'Master on1'. Just to make a point. But I don't perform anymore. Do you perform? The teacher swallowed the rod. He confuses the style of Irish and English dance with Afro Cuban culture.
@jperri05065 жыл бұрын
I disagree. He's got plenty of afro cuban influence in his dance when the song calls for it. But he also blends a smoother waltz-like vibe when there is a different song/vibe, like some of the romantic salsa.
