That and otherworldly entities like demons require specific rituals or materials in order to defend oneself like a crucifix or citing from the Bible. Any physical monster can be killed by bullets or explosions, which makes them easier to get rid of and not as creepy to encounter.

Ghosts have plenty of rules and weaknesses of their own and can be interacted with if they materialize. As discussed at the end of the video. Most jobber ghosts are also too weak to even touch you and can only annoy and jump scare you at best. Vampires are generally much more powerful and dangerous than ghosts. I agree with Woolie.

Woolsworth´s perception of a ghost is pretty much incorrect. What he is describing is residual haunting, which is basically an old house replaying past events that happened in the said house- definitely spooky but more annoying than anything else. Matt and Pat´s perception of a ghost is more accurate which is basically a trapped soul between world of the living and the dead, which have their own intelligence and can interact with physical objects via psychokinesis and can actually kill you-definitely scary. Then again, what I´m talking about is horror movie ghosts since there is no legit evidence for ghosts to be real. Most of the evidence that is described as hauntings and apparitions can be logically explained. From old wood cracking on its own to sleep deprived eyewitnesses of apparitions etc.

They are incorporeal and if they want you dead what can you do about it? When I think of general ghost talk I think about a haunted house on the side of the road that your friends want to go in. Why do you think people are afraid of haunted houses? It's not because they don't want to get spooked! The threat of getting scared isn't enough to stick something in our minds as a society as something terrifying in the same way as monsters, ghost have to have an *actual* threat to be there, and many do. Casper and spooky ghost are just some small examples among many varied ghosts so acting like they are what ghost are is ridiculous and many are so evil and you wouldn't know what you are dealing with either on weaknesses or morality. Ok. So my thing is Ghosts are pretty high tier on the power scale of monsters. I mean in movies they have to appear for dramatic affect, but actual ghosts dont have to do that. Also of all the powers the other monsters have, Ghost have the best ones Walk through walls, physical possession, They can still touch, invisibility, Curse magic and any means of strange immunity by way of spirit links to things or some other bullshit. Plus they like to fuck with you before they kill you. Anything that plays with its food is already high tier. I think the only thing about ghost that make them "weak" is that they are usually only active after some dumb "ritual" whether it be watching a tape, having sex with the wrong person or being at the wrong place at the wrong time

the thing about most jobber monsters is that if they can be reliably cut down by a shotgun theres not really a lot to be afraid of. its like a big, stronger animal. say a fiend from the witcher attacks a town, you could probably kill that by hitting it with an SUV real fast. a necromorph would make me shit my pants harder than taco bell but im confident the military or the police could kill a couple. but even a basic bitch ghost is annoying to deal with because most normal people dont know magic to get rid of it. like say IT from It follows. you can game the rules of how it works but you cant deal with it permanently. sure, they didnt try silver, salt or pure iron (usual anti ghosts/monters items) but in media thats usually potrayed as just warding them off, not permanently dealing with it, even in the witcher (the poster boy for "just kill it with meteoric silver").

Prince Of Fire the it follows ghost, which is relatively weak considering it has to walk after you and must respect physical boundaries has a "physical" form that can be shot but still keep going to eventually hump you to death. It's essentially unkillable, even with a physical form. The problem with ghosts will always be that they are annoying to dispose of when compared to anything flesh and blood

It is cited as a shape shifting supernatural creature created from a curse and never displayed ghost like characteristics. A ghost is simply the apparition of a dead person. Most ghosts in fiction are not only benign, but completely immaterial and thus incapable of harming us. When a ghost does materialize, it has a physical form comprised of ectoplasm. Woolie is right not to be scared even if they did exist. And Pat was ignorantly assuming that the vampire in question here isn't immune to conventional weaponry and can't come back from the dead like in serious vampire horror fiction.
