SBI has two basic portals, www.sbi.co.in that is used for corporate information and
www.onlinesbi.com for internet banking. The bank has also bought its own domain extension .sbi (like .com or .co.in) and uses that as well. However, misusing the bank's online banking portal, fraudsters created a new portal www.onlinesbi.digital similar to SBI's own online website, onlinesbi.com. These fraudsters then started sending SMS to customers with their fraud link seeking user credentials.
Good news is, after noticing the fake website www.onlinesbi.digital, SBI took necessary steps and this portal is now disabled.
For mobile banking SBI has provided three official apps. YONO SBI is the bank’s latest mobile banking offering and is an extension of its other two apps, SBI Anywhere and SBI Net Banking. So if you are a SBI customer, make sure you are using only one of these apps for mobile banking.
As a basic precaution, never click on any link received on SMS or social media like WhatsApp or Telegram for any transaction that is not started by you. Also, if you want to visit the bank's website, then type the complete URL instead of clicking on readymade search result. Further, do check if the bank website uses https in the web address or. If it is just http without the 's' then do not carry out any transaction on this portal.
