I'm going to see smashing pumpkins on the 13th of June in Manchester England, they have the guitarist kiki wong playing with the band now and she is known for her electric guitar playing so I really hope we get a lot of songs from the siamese dream album. That would be just something else, can't wait.

I was 14 when the album came out... 44 now and this album still hits me like it did back then. Just in different ways.

Same age man... the line in Rocket, "I miss me, I miss everything I'll never be" just sends chills through me. Not that I have a bad life, just not how young me thought it would turn out.
I think I was in 7th grade when this came out. I'm 41 now, this album still gives me goosebumps. Time flies like an arrow...

Peak college years for me when I was introduced to Siamese Dream. Might be the most listened to album in my library. If I could only listen to 3 albums for the rest of my life, this is one of them.

I love the quote from D’arcy, where she says Billy can sing in two different tones at once. Truly brilliant.

Siamese Dream was the first CD I ever bought. I just liked the covor, but it opened up a whole world. I'm proud I got to ture a bunch of other people on to it. That album got me through some hard times as a kid. I was at the last show you did in Indiana. As an elder listener, I can say. I'll be at the next one I can be.

I love this album as much as the next person who grew up with it in the 90s. Top 3 rock albums of all time? Whoah...Not even sure I would call it the top 3 of the 90s. Nirvana, AiC, PJ, and Soundgarden come immediately to mind. Opinionated topic for sure.
@steverainingagain79564 ай бұрын
@@F110mechive only recently discovered this album but I am so hooked and blown away by it. Absolutely love the bands you mentioned but I don't think they have any albums as good as this. I'd have it as my best 90s album I think. Jar of Flies second

@steverainingagain79564 ай бұрын
@@F110mech yeah im not telling you youre wrong, im just curious as to the 90s albums you would have above it. I dont equate popularity to musicality, and I don't think the likes of Nevermind or Ten have the same variation. SD is equally dreamy in measure as it is heavy. Better mix of acoustic and distorted guitar. String sections sprinkled in there too. The guitar tone is also just out of this world, maybe the best I've heard. I love Nevermind and its probs in my top 3 90s with this and Jar of Flies. No question there is mega competition from that era! If you look at it solely through the lens of musicality though I think it tops the lot

I was 17, a junior in high school when this album came out and was lucky enough to catch the tour when it came to my hometown. Tickets were something like $18. General admission, got there early and claimed my spot against the front and center row right up against the rail. No cellphones, no distractions. I had to fight all night to keep my spot and ended up with a pretty good size bruise across my stomach 😂. Well worth it!! One of the greatest moments of my life. I'm 48 now and still love Smashing Pumpkins!!

Well said. Can relate to this, even though I was raised in Australia (and guessing you in USA). You made me laugh when you talked about "having to fight for my spot".....those front standing areas and/or mosh pits weren't for the light-hearted.

One of my top 5 all time albums. This brought up so many memories from that era. Not least because they were the first gig I ever went to in '93 at Leeds T&C, supported by (The) Verve!. Having that third guitarist onstage here seemed pretty unnecessary to me... kinda diminished James Iha's role. His parts always dovetail so well with Corgan's playing.
