I'm surprised that you cowtowered to the insignificant few, who have nothing better to do than complain. You shouldn't have even acknowledged their comment(s). Your videos do exactly what you want them to, and for me, I look forward to hearing your point of view on the subject of fountain pens.

Every time I see a video with one of these pens, I have to watch it. That acrylic is so beautiful, particularly the red.

That cross point is always awesome to see. Great color of red ink to go with it, too.

Thank you Stephen.. I actually have a Legend 766.. Andreas told me it was a prototype for the LM-1.. I got Mine from Bryant and he only had a shiny black with gold.. very simple but classic. It came stubbed and I had Dan Smith make it wonderful.. it was skipping. I love it.. as to the cranky folks.. i think they ought to try their own hand at reviews.. not so easy kids! Thank you Stephen.. you've done tons for all of us. The cranks.. well, they've done nothing except make the world bitchier. Frank from Colorado

you got a great price on that LM1, I bought the last one from Andreas last year for $800. I believe they are going for $1,000 now. From what I gathered from Andreas, the design was a collaboration with Paul Rossi who also made the construction of the barrel shape and cap.

Thanks for the info and viewing of these pretty pens. Always interesting to see how the other half writes.

Beautiful pens! Those interested in nibs with line variation could consider Sailor's Zoom nib. It can go from fine to broad (more or less) as the angle changes.

My preference is a Sailor fine nib as I’m a small printer, (I don’t mean I’m small but my printing is small), 🤣 but each time you demonstrate that LB5 my desire to be able to use a nib like that goes off the charts. Stunning to see it in use. Congratulations on such prized pens. Thanks for sharing.

Great video. Please do not let the bitching nock you down!!! Always remember that thousands rely on your videos to form an informed opinion. And that you were one of the pioneers in FP related vlogging. As freeking simple as that. I understand you are sensitive about your audience satisfaction, but hey... Bitching is bitching and it will always remain so.

dont forget you inspired me to collect pens and start my love of fountain pens and calligraphy again! no matter what anyone says; you be you! unless you can be batman..then be him! but im not sure if he collects fountain pens? stay as you....just to be safe.....maybe take a break and be batman just to buy some very expensive pens...but then get back to you again.....yeah thats it! thats the plan!

Awesome video as always, I was wondering? 🤔 I have bought many many Fountain Pens due to mostly your reviews/shoot outs and so forth. My favorite as I’ve told you before if you ever read my post? I’m sure you have cause reading all of our posts is so easy to do? 😉 Anyway is the Kaweco Sports Collection I have bought virtually every color of them and will continue to do so until I own all of them, that’s how much I Love them. I even bought the ball points and roller ball versions as well as some of the Kaweco pencils too a little OCD I know. Long story short and to get to my question. I daily have to write on a carbon type copy of paper work and fountain pens seem to be a pain in the ass to use on carbon copy signature required paperwork! All though I may be using the wrong ones? So I tend to have to use my other pens which isn’t a bad thing I just wonder is there a fountain pen you might know of that I should get to do this task? Even my Pilot Vanishing Point has been attempted/used for this job but on the third and sometimes even the second carbon copy it’s too faded to be acceptable and I’m forced to use a ball point. Please help or suggest an option if one is available? Thank You.

Love that the old lady impersonation has made it to your pen vids 😂 cracks me up. When you do it, it reminds me of a friend I had when I was young... We would talk like old country ladies and do a bit of a skit sometimes just for something to do... She was Ethel May. Couldn't remember for the longest time what she called me and this vid helped me to remember... It was Myrtle. Lovely pens btw. Lovely to know they exist... If you ever want to do a fun quirky pen review, there is something called a foil quill freestyle that you plug into a usb port that allows you to write with foil. It's pretty nifty. It's put out by we r memory keepers if you want to check it out. I suspect it won't interest you, but on the off chance... What can it hurt to mention it? Hope you have a great day!

Gorgeous acrylic. Is there a point to gold nibs if smoothness is imparted by the tip (not gold), and the nib has no flexibility?
@aidanbernal5 жыл бұрын
regardless of flex, gold and steel just kinda feel different. Jowo makes both gold and steel nibs of the same size, and neither have flex, but the jowo gold nibs have a tiny bit of give/bounce to them whereas the steel ones don't. ofc, that doesn't make gold objectively better but they are a bit different

I'm lucky enough to own the LM1. Beautiful pen however it does tend to dry out a little. Stephen do you have difficulty using your Lm1 on certain papers? The Rhodia paper gives me fits with this pen.

Not really, but the nib is prone to drying out

I would guess Sailor made them both, or at the very least they are made by a company that has access to the same resin stock as Sailor?

Great review of 2 gorgeous pens! Interchangeable or not, from the two pens seen on the review, I wonder how you'd fare with the smaller section of the LB5 over a long writing session. It really did seem like your fingers would be pressing against threads a bit. On another topic, save your energy my friend in terms of responding to whiners. I get it....it's a bit frustrating and you're thinking it's best handled by an above-board response to all, but to 99% of your viewers, we're simply enjoying your reviews, and are thankful you're doing them. Frankly, "an factory nib" (on the surface) sounds like you're making fun of someone's grammar--very unStephen-like. Just keep on doing humorous Stephen and we'll just keep on watching!

I wasn't trying to make fun of anyone's grammar, that is just my standard bitching voice :-)
