Bus 186 time, involving the temporary PIE Exit 17D exit, from Shenton Way to St. Michael's Terminal, passing by Anson Road, Cecil Street, Upper/Cross Street, Havelock Road, Ganges Avenue, Alexandra Road, Commonwealth Avenue, Queensway, Farrer Road, Dunearn Road, Whitley Road, PIE, Thomson Road, Balestier Road, Whampoa Drive, Jalan Bahagia, and Kim Keat Road.
Introduced in 1993 under TransitLink Network Integration Exercise Phase 11, 186 initially plied between Shenton Way Terminal and Farrer Road, looping formerly at where is now Botanic Gardens MRT.
It was extended later the same year under Phase 12 of TransitLink Network Integration Exercise to St. Michael's Terminal, and the last major amendment of Bus 186 was the amendment to the new Shenton Way Bus Terminal after the old one closed to make way for the Prince Edward MRT station on the Circle Line.
The latest amendment to 186 was only affected towards St. Michael's Terminal with the temporary Exit 17D slip road being constructed, but no bus stops were affected.
